So... geeky is all about being a bit techy and loving to talk about geeky stuff to other geeks, but actually being a reasonably cool person because you're able to hold a conversation about normal things and generally being an all round (if a little eccentric at times) good egg.
Nerdy is where you're actually a complete social retard because you're incapable of talking about anything other than your chosen field of interest - usually computers - and you're only able to socialise with other nerds or kind hearted geeks who feel sorry for you.
The BT advert guy is the latter, though he's straddling the line a little too much for my liking. They're clearly not showing him
