would weaken it, active immunity will not be strong. antigens will be able to attack the body more succesfully since inflammatory responses wont be very effective

what is the difference in plant hormones and human hormones?

plant hormones:
produced through out the plant
local cells and tissues are targeted

human hormones:
regulated by the CNS
specific effects
specified target

Outline the process by which peptide hormones can effect gene transcription
Reply 4386
the hormones could bind to DNA at the start of a gene, and then act as an activator or a repressor by either increasing or decreasing the rate of transcription

Explain how BAT is able to regulate both core body temperature and body weight.

ooh whats the answer to that? Is it something like BAT controls temperature to keep it cold enough for the fat stores, so then the stores could be used to release glucose energy and lower body fat whenever energy input is lower than energy output?

From the spirometer graph.. How do work out the tidal volume and all the other stuff? I don't understand it.

remember the equation "ventilation rate = breathing rate x tidal volume" rework that to your satisfaction for every question regarding that ****

Im not really sure but i was thinking something along..

High calorie fat or cold temperatures stimulate the SNS
The SNS secretes noradrenaline
BAT cells multiply and release T3 locally
T3 stimulates production of UCP-1
UCP-1 disrupts the respiration bu uncoupling electron transfer from ATP production
Energy is lost as heat so more glucose and fatty acids needed to provide for the metabolic process.
Need to eat more to get the same amount og energy. And the energy is lost as heat instead of for ATP synthesis

wow, that is a nice answer!

alright I'll try to remember atleast half of that haha
