Why do Dentists have such a high suicide rate?

The title says it all really...
I've always wondered why Dentists statistically have such a high suicide rate, is it the sheer stress of the job? The way the NHS is structured in UDAs and bandings? Or that the job can be monotonous and involves constant negativity with people complaining about how they don't like the dentist and don't want to be there...
I am just very curious and wanted other peoples thoughts on this??

I'd like to see some recent statistics to back this up please, the field of dentistry has changed greatly over the past decade with an increase in the number of multi-dentist surgeries. I'm interested to see whether there has been a change in the rate of suicide over the past few decades.
All those root canal treatments must be so unnerving!

It seems that in almost all other species, especially primates, baring one's teeth is a threat or a show of potential force.

That's why. Being subconsciously threatened 40 times a day, 5 days a week can make one pretty suicidal.

There's no statistical evidence that dentists have a higher suicide rate than any other profession. In fact, there's not much data available that correlates profession to suicide rate and very little evidence that profession plays a significant factor in someone deciding to take their own life.

However, in the US the second leading cause of death in the U.S. among those age 15 to 24 is suicide so from that we may be able to deduce that the "profession" with the highest suicide rate is "student"!

Dentist: Now make sure you brush your teeth well, [insert name of child].
Child: ok! I promise!

*six months later*

Dentist: Argh! You haven't been brushing your teeth!
Child: I have, twice a day, I just have bad teeth!

Prevention is part of what dentists do, yes.
