I'm guessing this is which actor?
    BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH OMGOSH<3
I find him raaather attractive ;D Haha!

Seriously though, he's an awesome actor and I just love the portrayal I think I just prefer the series as well.
Like, the film Sherlock is quite sexualised (kinda) when we're specifically told that (apart from Irene Adler) Sherlock has NO relationships like this, rather he's closed off and cold.

    Anyone?

I do agree that Cumberbatch is rather beautiful. But more than anything about the BBC adaptation, I love what they've done with Watson.

I've only actually seen the Downey Jr ones so him by default. Ladies love cool Benedict though from what everyone says, he's a rather dapper chap though, quite the unique look.

    Jeremy Brett. Hands down.

Though Benedict Cumberbatch is definitely up there.

I refuse to put Robert Downey Jr in the same category.

I'd say Benedict Cumberbatch or Jeremy Brett, because I think their portrayals of Holmes are the closest to the book. Robert Downey Jnr is a good Holmes, but I think the film itself is to 'Hollywood' and glamorised to make him one of the best.

    Without a doubt.
Brett is Holmes in TV form.
Cumberbatch is well suited to the direction taken in the new adaptations.

The canon!Holmes (as portrayed by Sidney Paget and written by C. Doyle). I am rather original; even when I do too like Brett, and am obsessive when coming to the BBC adaptation (big fan of the writers, not much as actors).
Robert D. Jr. Is a bore, but he still is a good actor, and as Holmes adaptations ago this one was a fair shot- but not revolutionary- its only loud because of Hollywood branding.
Silly thing- no one mentioned Basil Rathbone! He's classic.

My favourite Holmes was when Data from Star Trek - The Next Generation portrayed him and Geordi played Watson.
