Worth watching

Show takes place in Egypt.

The hosts prank the guests by telling them that the show is actually Israeli.

What ensues is pretty disgusting in my opinion, but worth watching because it is truly an insight into the level of hatred for jews buried deep into these people.

Note: the translations are 100% accurate so please don't start off on some tangent about memri tv and all that. They are accurate.

Haters gonna hate.

I could never understand why middle eastern men seemed to descend into shouting matches so quickly whenever they were debating something. Then I read Wafa Sultans book 'A God Who Hates' . It is well worth reading ( especially as she has put her life on the line and recieves daily death threats for writing it ) and it explains the psychology of it and how they see the loudest voice as winning the debate, regardless of what is said. :frown:

If this is the kind of attitude (on ethnicity, towards women) that pervades the middle-east I think the notion of the Arab Spring as any sort of liberal democratic flowering to be naive.

Just swapping one racist sexist regime for another.

Edit: Negged by the Jew hating actor in the video. 2012 buddy join the human race yeah?

Oh dear, it's so funny when they think they're surrounded by Jews and they start being bigoted lol.

It must get aired because, no doubt, the vast majority of Egyptian viewers share their views on the Jews. So backwards.

I love how at the end of the video they praise the guy for his actions. THESE are the people the rest of the world is spending billions on to help...while in US and Canada and UK, citizens are starving.

What these people did in the video is horrible, and while there is no doubt that tons of people support them it's important to remember that a not insignificant minority doesn't. Also, while their actions are inexcusable, it's overly simplistic to watch a video and judge an entire country based on it. There's equally horrible stuff that Israeli people do, so both sides are wrong.

Also, I'm not sure where this "world is spending billions on to help" thing comes from. The US does indeed give Egypt military aid to the sum of $1.3B, but don't be naive and think they're doing that for Egypt. The US supports the militaries of countries that they believe will come in handy - a smart tactic aside from the fact that it always bites them in a$$ later.

In terms of "humanitarian" donations to Egypt the US donates $250-310 million to Egypt1&2, while Canada donates $17.83 million3. That's not a small amount, but it's a far cry from the "billions" that you mentioned. Also, Israel receives aid as well from the US, 2.775B and 400m for military and humanitrain causes respectively.

I'm afraid that it always was naive from the get go, at least in Egypt ( I must admit that I haven't been following the other Arab countries very well).

Unfortunately, the Egyptian people are not prepared for a real democracy. You need an educated and involved society for democracy to occur, which is hard to accomplish (and isn't in the best of interest of a lot of people who'd like power). Also, there are no well-established liberal groups in Egypt. Like we saw in the past "election" there were a few last minute candidates but unfortunately vote splitting and religious indoctrination prevaled.

There are a lot of things we don't know about this. For instance, how many people did they 'interview' to get a few reactions as extreme as this? While this view may be shared by some in Egypt (and the middle east), we clearly don't know if it is representative of a majority. There may be some resentment to what's going on in Israel, but it's another thing to make such sweeping statements like 'all people in Israel are liars' and then make some petty comments about the Holocaust.

The biggest problem I had with this were the people staging it. Especially in the last interview, they were laughing and joking around while the guy said 'I hate the Jews to death'. That's a pretty disgusting comment to be joking about.

Billions, millions, thousands...who cares? Any amount those people get for whatever reason is too much. This is exactly the type of nonsense the world did arming the Taliban against the Russians and look where it led them.

These people shouldn't be getting a penny. They're out there in a civil war destroying their own country, secretly hating Jews and Christians and here we are spending cash on them while we're all in a recession and in record debts.

Also its naive of you to think that I am talking about each and every single Egyptian when i say "them". No one talks in such absolutes.

Indeed, wile some form of democracy is possible (the west was not always so welcoming and tolerant when it first flirted with democratic principles, when the US constitution was written they probably didn't even consider black folk and the common man, or more aptly woman) the western media seems overly optimistic.

When the first revolutions occurred you'd think this happened:

When really this happened:

Such is our reward for supporting 'the right side'.
