I did ****!

Mathematics A*
English Language A (I got a*s and a D in an exam!!!! And the best in the class got a U!!!)
Photography C (so pissed off)

Modules:
Biology Chemistry Physics and Geography.. All A*

So upset :cry2:  :frown:

:console:Those are amazing results - if it makes you feel better, if you ignore the Photography then you've got all A* and one A, which is amazing!! Especially considering you're in Year 10 (you're in Year 10, right?). And if you are, just think - you've got a whole year, you can re-take photography if you want  that A* in Maths is fantastic, and an A in English is brilliant too! Don't forget, there's been some issues with the English this year; I saw on the GCSE forums that people are complaining how harshly it was graded.

Don't be too hard on yourself; you've done really well :hugs:

I am just so angry!!! How did I get 17/40 raw marks in a GCSE reading exam! And get an A in an A level history exam?! Both were reading! :frown:

And I haven't got those yet, theyre only modules... Only maths, language and photography are fill GCSEs... Added to last year.. :frown:

Still, they're and will be very good Gcse grades. :yep:
Enough for you to go to LSE or UCL. :awesome:

The reason why I mention LSE and UCL is that you must have 8 A*s or higher at GCSE before you can even have a fighting chance with them. :sadnod:

Oxbridge are less strict on Gcses so if you have a good PS, AS modules mostly 90+ ums (as a rule of thumb, you should be scoring 93-95Ums on every module) and perform well at interview, you'll definitely have a chance.

Believe me when I say this, those results are brilliant! You should be proud of yourself - they're way better than the average GCSE grades .

Thanks  I can still get 8 A*s hopefully :frown:

Thanks though, should I get a remark? I'm 16 UMS of an A* I think... which is obviously a lot... But a C and a D in an exam! It's so uncharacteristic... :frown:

I don't think Cambridge will be put off by a solitary C in Photography, considering how brilliant your other grades are (and, I have no doubt, will be over the next 3 years when you do the rest of your GCSEs and your A Levels). Now then, relax for a bit and enjoy the rest of your summer holidays!! :hugs:

Cambridge is less strict on Gcses than Oxford, LSE or UCL. Do you plan to apply to LSE or UCL? If so, they're the strictest in terms of Gcses. They rejected a lot of good applicants with the reason "Gcse grades not sufficient".

Definitely aim for as many A*s as possible - it will give you a higher chance at the above institutions before you begin your A levels. But please don't underestimate the importance of a good PS and great predicted grades. You could get a 1,000 A*s at GCSE but without enthusiasm for your course, you won't stand much of a chance.

It's an essay subject so I think it'll be worthwhile to get it remarked. :yep:

Thanks  I'll try  (and I'm getting a remark me thinks :colone:)
Wahh.. specialist appointment on the 13th September. If they tell me I'm not allowed to drink alcohol until I'm better, I think I'll cry, freshers will be ruined

Aaah, thankfully I'm set on Cambridge... but I may consider applying... :/

Aah, thanks, I'll do all of those, I can show enthusiasm... And I am genuinely interested

Thanks, here is the break down...

Okay so English Language:
Unit 1: 23/40 D (17/40 raw)
Unit 2: 25/40 C ( 20/40 raw)
Unit 3: 56/60 A* (73-74 /80 raw)
Unit 4: 60/60 A*

What shall I do? :frown: so confused...
Lol, but the D and C will haunt me forever...

Awesome
I can't resit one unit, have to resit them all xD fml...

Would a remark be appropriate? Because I'd need 23/40 and 25/40 ish... In raw MarOSX which I think I had tbh..
I will :frown: thanks! WJEC were bloody perfect until then
