No. There are over 20 proper OCR papers for this specification. That is plenty.

Quick question, when drawing diagrams for resolving forces, how do you know where the resultant force is going to be?

Well you choose a direction to be positive and if the overall resultant is positive then it's in that direction you chose. If it's negative it is in the other direction. You do the vertical and horizontal components separately
