The usual convention is for component numbers to increase from top left to bottom right of the drawing - but it doesn't really make any difference as long as everything has a unique reference. the direction of current shouldn't really be a consideration.


on a large and complicated drawing it's quicker to find things if they've been numbered off from top left to bottom right

But it would matter when using potential divider wouldn it?

Well if you intend to rigidly apply a formula you've previously memorised...

I've always just worked it out so I can cope with evil examiners trying to jam my brain.
