Are there any colleges left that haven't really given out a huge number of pool offers/interviews yet?

yeah but out of a 200 increase uni wide for natsci it increased by 50 at churchill alone!!

Churchill specialises in sciences though, and has the most places for it, so it isn't that surprising.

The Pembroke peak on the other hand seemingly has no basis for it's sudden popularity spike. The only think I can think of it a lot of Pembroke attention when it reached the UC final last year

I don't know whether to be happy or not at the spike of CompSci applicants across the unviersity. :s-smilie:

I would prefer a drop of 100 rather than a raise of 100 xD

Pembroke has a good reputation for Natural Sciences I believe.

yes, but "why now" was more the question. Why the sudden jump by 33% this year after a smooth last 4 years?

Well they had a college wide spike. (About 700-750 to 868)
Was this only introduced this year?

It swung my decision towards Pembroke.

In any case, 100 is very significant as there are only a maximum of 100 places to begin with! And they rarely even get near 75% full.

No - the report does distinguish between direct offers and offers after interview.

Ah, sorry, I hadn't realised. Thanks for clearing that up
Hi, I've been pooled by Emmanuel for Chemical Engineering via Engineering. Still no news so far.

I have a question. If I haven't been called for a further interview until the 7th, should I still be hoping until the 14th for an interview-less offer or is that impossible? Just to be sure.

Exactly what I'm still wondering! It says on the letter 5-10th but on the winter pooling form it says 5-7th. Need to know quickly cos ive got an expensive flight on the 9th!

Anyone got any ideas??

Right I know I haven't got a place, if only I had that cambridge college stats website earlier! Murray Edwards....it was only JUST last year that someone pooled from Murray Edwards got fished for PhysNatural Sciences......Now I am definitely screwed :/

Ah, great to hear. Thanks.

Also, do you know if direct offers are more often made on the 5-7th or 7-14th period? Sorry for the stupid question, I need all the hope I can get to stay in a good mood.

Is it worth the risk? What subject are you applying for? interviews for some subjects are held on the 10th, if that is your subject then i think you can be safe to say that you will not be called for interview. However, if your subject interviews on the 12th, i believe then there is a chance of you being called for interview.

7th is the last day to get an interview invitation, but you can still get an offer without an interview until the 14th.

Got pooled from trinity for history of art. How do you find out which subjects are being held on the 12th? Thanks so much for the help!!! xx
Any Trinity Hall people might want to know that most of last year's TH applicants who had been rejected post-pool were emailed by Vicky on the 4th day of fishing, at about 11am. Tomorrow's the 4th day for us, so this is just a heads-up for everyone :s-smilie:

Direct offers will continue to come in for a few days yet.

It's unlikely that you'll be called for interview now, even if your subject is interviewing on Saturday. If you have checked those spam folders etc then you are probably OK.
