Let's say we are in agreement that the number is 500. If the next poster posts 498, and a millisecond later a boy posts 502, then it's only fair that we should take 498 as the next value - rather than the ' if x people post at the same time, then we take the value of the last person to post' rule. Not only is that unfair, but what constitutes as at the 'same time'? 2/4/10 seconds after?

agreed, but it would be easier to keep track if we only put in numbers ?after? we've posted

two less = 490
less = 486
