The truth about Algeria

The British government gave the Algerians the right to move in and kill at any cost to keep oil production going at its BP base.

Oil now means much more than human life and western governments are willing to spill any amount of blood to obtain it.

Their deliberately now saying they want an investigation and the SAS are ready to go in, what they really wanted is oil production to continue at any cost.

Welcome to the world we live in guys!

As you have the burden of proof... Well, what undeniable proof is there? It comes at the same time that the UK wants to move dependency from fossil fuels over to renewable sources providing 30% of electricity by 2020.

I just don't understand why this is about oil over citizens, especially when we are perfectly able to excel with other means in the future.

Its impressive that in an international stand-off, the world still waits for the British government to give the green light on what to do.

Just shows that all those people that say Britain is a declining power are deluding themselves.

Got any sources or is this your own baseless speculation?
So much wrong with this post...

.Firstly it's a gas field. There's no oil involved.
.It's also a single plant in a large network. They wouldn't bust in just for the sake of getting production back online. The world has huge gas stockpiles and many sources for it to come from.
.We also have no say over what Algeria gets up to deep in the Sahara Desert. It's a notoriously aggressive country when it comes to fighting terrorists and this isn't a surprising result at all. If we really just cared about oil the last thing we'd want is for them to blast half the plant with helicopters which'll take a fair while to fix up.

The Algerians didn't wait for the British (or Japanese or American or French) governments though. They don't even seem to have given any advance warning of the assault.

Which isn't to say anything as to whether Britain is or isn't a 'declining power'; if anything, it adds to the suspicion that the way in which the Algerian operation was conducted seems pretty haphazard.

The notion that they were waiting for the 'green light' (I don't know if you are being facetious..) from Britain is just flat wrong.

We don't know what this is about, but it has been made public that Al Q is an instrument of the CIA (ref Robin Cook and others), so it is suspicious that Al Q have admitted responsibility. And who benefits? Is it strange that Cameron has now openly stated that we will have ten years terrorism from this event. They're still mopping up the blood, there's been no inquiry, and yet our government has already concluded this event will require a further fight against terrorism = more restrictions on our freedoms, more public money spent on security and arms.

Anyone who believes our government (UK) is staffed by good people who have our best interests at hearts needs to get a grip. We are governed by gangsters.

Alegeria was a false flag. At least this one wasn't on UK soil.

Perhaps he said it will last decades because there are currently al Qaeda affiliated groups working in Somalia, Algeria, Libya, Mali and Sudan, this problem ain't going anywhere fast.

It's hardly been made public al Qaeda is a CIA controlled group, even if it was what would the point be? And what would the point be of a false flag attack in Algeria....
