Gola - would you wear this brand

I need a new college bag since i am getting annoyed wearing a backpack and i saw these two bags on the Schuh website which i liked:

and

....however i showed my friend and she was like its kind of a chavvy brand and i should choose a different bag. I have never heard of Gola before and i don't really follow fashion trends or wear clothes/accessories with the brand name or logo on it (like superdry, jack wills, A&F etc) so now i don't know what to do as the bag is big enough for my college books and looks durable :s-smilie:

Do you think Gola is a chavvy brand and would you wear a bag with Gola printed across it?

Anyone :K:
They're an old sports brand that was relaunched as a 'retro' sports brand. I wouldn't wear it, but then I wouldn't really have any bag with a brand name sprawled across it.
Perhaps wear it inside out?

I dont think there is anything wrong with it, if you like them then who care what others think.
If that sort of thing matters to you, yes, it's a chavvy brand.

If that sort of thing doesn't matter to you, it'll just look like a bag that you use to carry things.

It's not a brand worth a premium price, if that's what you mean. They were purchased by the Jacobson Group, which is in turn part-owned by Mike Ashley's Sports Direct Group - much like he also purcahsed other struggling sportswear brands Lonsdale, Donnay, Dunlop and Slazenger. What the point of this is exactly I'm not really sure, it's like wasting several million pounds on trinkets. But as one businessman once said, "Mike Ashley likes to park his tanks on peoples' lawns."

But branded bags are so boring, I wanted something more interesting and relevant to myself (I do programming at University), so I bought this for £15! No-one is going to give a toss about a boring bag like a Gola but I've had a number of positive comments about mine

This. It's not so much the brand that makes it chavvy it's the fact that it's splashed over the front. Usually either that makes you look like a rah or a chav depending on the label.

OP, I have this bag for uni:

I love it, it's big enough for anything i'd ever need it for and I love the design. I've had a few people compliment it too
I've had Gola bags since I was 14 (now 22) for school/uni purposes and I wouldn't get anything else, I find them to be very strong and hard wearing as I tend to carry lots of textbooks around being a pharmacy student! I've barely ever seen anyone else using one so I'm not convinced by the chavvy label, not that it would bother me anyway!
