Zodiac's far better than the absurdly contrived and gimmicky Se7en

No it's not.

Thanks some decent films there , especially Zodiac.
I'm in the mood to watch Drama right now , something emotional if you've got anything good will rate for for life my friend.

Like Crazy
Ordinary People
The Wrestler
Leaving Las Vegas
In The Name of the Father
Kes

Tried to get a broad mix in there within the 'emotional' framework. :colondollar:
God Bless America is an incredible hilarious take on the US media and its impact on US society. You should watch it (unless you are right wing and agree with the points that are indirectly criticised in the film). Just saw the film yesterday and really enjoyed, the two main protagonists work really well together, too, good acting.

All awesome recommendations dude!!
How about comedy??

If it's comedy you're after, I'd definitely recommend Airplane! if you haven't already seen it. Bloody hilarious film! :ahee:
Watching Back to the Future for the first time. Man I feel sorry for him, his mum is digging him ahahahaha
Ferris Bueller's Day Out is such an intriguing film once you read into all the theories and development of it.

Haha can't say I'm surprised, I never really go out of my way to watch a comedy unless I know I'm going to enjoy it. Just saw the trailer for it, looks pretty funny.

To be honest the comedy scene has somewhat diminished, I think films try too hard with jokes and it's becoming too predictable. Just my opinion. Lol yeah, hope it's not one of those big movies that disappoint. Have to watch Django soon too!!

Comedy isn't really my forte. <img src="images/smilies/colondollar.gif" border="0" alt="" title=":colondollar:" smilieid="17" class="inlineimg" /> Some of those might be on the IMDB 250 as well, I haven't really paid much attention to that list.

I just saw the trailer for a film called "Spring Breakers". I died a little on the inside.
Did anyone see Looper in the cinema, you know, the time travel one with Bruce Willis? Was it any good?

Yes, and I loved it. A lot of people didn't like it at all.

It feels like it could have been better.

It feels like it could have been better.

I thought it was a great antidote to the usual summer blockbuster. A medley of cinematic genres* and some great pacing. I just thought it was masterfully crafted and flowed from one genre to another magnificently.. But then a lot of people said it was a confused mess of a film, so what do I know?

*it does admittedly become a scrapbook of 'guess the reference' at times, but then some films like Shaun of the dead thrive on that

I love it! But my flatmates think it will be boring. :whip:

Same with Blazing Saddles.

Shame, they're missing out on two great films.

I don't like Airplane either, never seen it fully. I just don't like the humour. I have also never seen Life of Brian - the first 15 minutes were so awful I couldn't bear it any longer. And it's funny because I like Monty Python.

You didn't like Airplane?! It's an absolute classic! One of the funniest films ever made, surely? (and don't call me Shirley)

I thought it was fine and well crafted but nothing remarkable. It's a film that references different movies (but better movies than Looper). The final act is a little unbelievable IMO.
