Interesting news regarding Turkey:

The ongoing peace talks with the PKK.

The likeliness of a contitutional change which will lift the ban on headscarves in public offices.

I think Turkey and the Kurds will separate in a matter of time, their leaders are too powerful.

You seriously think that South Eastern Turkey will become 'Kurdistan'? :curious:

Unfortunately, yes. I don't think a good agreement between us and the Kurds will be reached, as they want the one thing that Turks are not prepared to give. However, this has been going on for so many years and with so many Turkish troops dying, I don't know how much more of it we can actually take. I mean, they have the support of so many countries and are massive money-makers in south east England and London, by having wealthy Kurdish restaurant/takeaway owners pay towards the support of the PKK (not only in the UK, but Germany, Belgium etc).
What I'm trying to say is they're not prepared to give up :frown:

Sorry to disappoint you, but it's not going to happen.

Besides, there exists an autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan.

I hope it doesn't happen, for the sake of Turkey. But I can't see a solution.

A bit late but

Yes it's worth doing and yes it's considered by universities bar the odd exception (QMUL come to mind with their policy on mother-tongues).
