the radiation from nuke could flow in rivers and seas and affect other countries, people will be mad at the USA

And since noone would be using nukes, that's of no concern whatsoever. The US would certainly not nuke anyone in this - they've got no need to. NK may possess the ability to do so, but the second they do, their game is finished permanently.

I don't think you have the faintest idea what you're talking about. There have been more nuclear detonations in the last seventy years than the worst case if North Korea hits the button; we're not all about to start glowing.

yes i hope we dont
It's not North Korea, it's just one little fat dictator. The rest of North Korea just want peace... or more pressingly, food.
The only country that is in danger by North Korea's threats is North Korea themselves.

oh right sorry (to the guy who quoted me before)- its just the military dehumanises its troops to the extent they cant integrate back into society irrelevant ofwhether theyve been 'war damaged' - which says something about its leaders - there was an article in the Week magazine that i was reading on the difference between american vs british army experiences and the severity of US training techniques . At least politicians are in touch with public opinion a bit more (though woops sorry i'm aware both politicians and officers are both involved in making decisions -).anyway ill shut up about this now as its irrelevant to the thread topic. Also yeh public opinion ranges massively due to the size of the country which means isolation between different backgrounds which breeds misinformation/ ignorance etc not to mention the breeding of extreme views on war. On the coasts there is more wealth so more movement of people and thereofre more acceptance/liberal values. -

America will not flatten Pakistan because it's not in their interests to do so. But given that Pakistan's nuclear missiles have a range of 1500km, and the US's have a range of 15,000km, and that a single Minuteman-III missile (which is one of the lesser components of the US nuclear arsenal) could take out half of Pakistan's infrastructure... It seems obvious which side to put your money on.

america is ignorant, pakistan has strategy and have more heart

america can bring all their arsenal weaponery they want

america will lose in the end no matter what

No amount of heart is helpful if half your population is a cloud of expanding vapour and your technology base reduced to pointy sticks, while your enemy can still obliterate you from the other side of the planet.

This is why much of the world gets more upset about certain countries pursuing nuclear weapons technology than others. Because there are an abundance of people like you - in high places in some parts of the world - who don't understand that nuclear war means mass death and destruction on a timescale of minutes. We don't trust certain states to use nuclear technology only as a deterrent, to adopt concepts like Mutually Assured Destruction into their military doctrine. A nuclear war doesn't last long enough for heart or strategy, it's all choreographed in advance; it's the dance of death. You push the red button, and when the music stops you hope that enough of your population have survived for you to start rebuilding your civilisation.

But instead of rationality, we get this ideological crap that you spout. There is a small but very real risk that this nonsense will destroy human civilisation.

Of what, not who. They fear the prospect of global nuclear war; the same as anyone with a greater understanding of this issue than the average newt.

Apparently The Queen has just tweeted this:

"STFU Kim Jong Un" #RAF #SAS #ROYALMARINES

Do you seriously think the UK could take on N Korea? Not a chance in hell.

Lose the question mark, then you're saying something sensible.

It is. But the fear is that with rhetoric like this being bandied about, that some NKorean trooper might get drunk/ahead of himself and restart the Korean War. With language like that, it gets more worrisome.

Unfortunately words can do a lot of harm, especially if the troops have the same mentality that some of the NK public do.
