Fluent in French, Italian (mother tongues) and English. Studied German for 10 years but we've never been friends ..
Currently learning Mandarin, on my way to getting HSK 5. I hope one day I'll be able to say that I speak Chinese fluently
I'm gonna start learning Japanese in September as part of my degree, so I really hope I'll be able to speak Japanese fluently too at some point !

My dad is French and my mom is Italian, so I grew up speaking both. And I have lived in both France and Italy too

hey everyone quick question:

Just curious, If you could learn any language what would it be any why? and more specifically what materials/ things would you want to see to help you achieve this? Would you be willing to pay for these to help you in learning this language?
Hmm, so far I've spent £165+£275+£220+£46 on German. And that doesn't include books, DVDs, newspapers or magazines...

£706 over three years... Gott im Himmel...

Are the resources helping you learn German well?

Certainly better than I would be without them, with the added benefit of qualifications. :biggrin:In order, those costs are: GCSE course fees, AS-level course fees, A2-level course fees, and AS-Level exam fees. Education is expensive.

Even though I do not know Spanish, I understood what you've said. Oh the influence of Mexican soap operas

Lol that's cool, I've been trying to read and watch programs in spanish, but i have to pause every 2 seconds to use google translate and that's sooo long.

I'm up for it! I kind of lost a bit of my Spanish and I would like to be able to speak it like before!

Awesome! Have you studied it before?
Uh-hum let's do this

Hola! Como estas? Me Llamo Harlee y estoy en ano 11.
Y tu?
I can speak: in English; en Francais; en Espanol; i Cymraeg (absolute minimal though!)(and I've probably forgotten most of it ) agus as Gaeilge!

Obviously English is my first language, I do GCSE French and Spanish but I'd say I could hold a conversation (did so with French folk last week) but I'm terrible at conversational Irish.

Je vais étudier le Francais * y el espanol para los A-Niveles! Me gustarle

Me gustaría hablar en espanol para practicar mi nivel de espanol

What is Esperanto?<img src="images/smilies/redface.png" border="0" alt="" title="" smilieid="2" class="inlineimg" /> <br />

Non so... :dontknow: </font>

Esperanto is a language that was supposed to be made out of all the languages in the world with bits and pieces from all of them, so that everybody could speak the same language (apart from their native one). A bit like 'globish' but even better because it would be made out of all the languages. However it never really picked up and didn't become very popular. Personally I think the idea was brilliant!
