Essay Writing in Economics degree?

I'm a little confused about what course to do at university. I'm confused between doing a joint degree like maths and economics or maths with economics or just maths. However it all depends on how much essay writing I'll have to do in the economics part of the course, if there's a lot of writing (which I dont like) then I might just opt for a straight maths degree. But if not then I'll consider a joint degree. I've heard it depends on which uni you go to. So is there a shed load of writing in an economics degree at a uni like Greenwich?

I apoligise if this is irrelevant, and I don't exactly know what an econ degree is, but I'd expect it be similar to this http://www.princeton.edu/~mbattagl/fpumay31_S.pdf perhaps. If you really hate writing/essay writing I'd choose maths

Thanks, that was a little helpful. I find economics as a subject interesting. Its just the writing that gets on my nerves :frown:
