Interview tomorrow and totally freaking out!!! :frown: any med phys people have it today?

Hey, I had my interview today. I was so nervous last night and this morning, and was absolutely sure I would mess it up as my daughter has been poorly so I didn't get much sleep before. The interviewers were all lovely though. I had done an awful lot of revision, though found nothing I looked at really came up, but it didn't seem to matter too much. I was unsure of a few of the questions but the interviewers seemed as though they really wanted to help, and try to guide me towards an answer. I got the feeling they were more impressed when I didn't know the answer but stuck with it and worked through logically to come up with what I thought might be the case. Obviously its good to actually know the answers, but it seemed as though proving you can apply your physics knowledge and a bit of logical reasoning counted for a lot too.

Talking to the organisers after it sounds like they will try and let us know the outcome much sooner that May/June too which is good. Good luck everyone who has an interview coming up and also those who are still waiting to hear about interviews!!

What specialism have you applied for for the Wales STP? I applied for the reproductive science one and heard back last week, Friday I think it was. They maybe haven't sent e-mails for all specialisms though, so good luck!
Would love to know if the interviews are the same as STP England!!

I applied for the Blood Sciences specialism. Was it good news? Hopefully I'll hear soon either way! Are you from Wales/a Welsh speaker by any chance? I seem to remember them saying something about preferring welsh speakers...

Thank you for letting us know how it went I have been panicking quite a bit :colondollar: I know that doesn't help me but I can't help it lol so your post has calmed me down quite a bit. Glad to hear it went well  and hopefully they don't keep you waiting too long!!
Ye I was speaking to someone at one of the hospitals and they said they're being told to try for 4 weeks after.... Sounds much better than may/june!!

Mine is also tomorrow! how are/did you prepare for the interview? im currently doing some last minute revision but getting super nervous and everything is becoming a blur!
It was ok, I had revised quite a lot but it seemed like none of that stuff really came up lol I felt the interview itself was more focused on how you think rather than on previous years where it was more do you know the answer or the buzzword they're looking for. I wouldn't get too worried the interviewers were all really lovely and you could tell they wanted to get the best answ out of you it's like FID10 said they do give you a bit of a nudge if you're unsure.
One thing I did like was they told you if you were correct or not which is always encouraging, rather than them just smiling and sayin let's move on and not allow you to reassess your answer if you were wrong.
I hope it's a good outcome but you never know really
Wish everyone all the best and just think this time tomorrow you'll be stress free

Has anyone heard back from Gastro and or Cardiac Sciences?? Sooo nervous lol

Has anyone applied for the Scotland scheme? How are the interviews like, anyone know?

I've applied for Cardiac Science in Scotland (and England), have an interview tomorrow surprisingly enough! I'm not sure how they work though, although I think they have a general panel rather than the speed dating style England uses.

I hope we hear from England soon! Feels like ages since the deadline!

Yeah, same, I'm doing some last minute revision atm and keep adding more things I need to look at before tomorrow - the list is huge! But it's probably not going to come up anyway. Eek! Good luck for tomorrow

Thanks bigbanggeek - I'll probably still revise a bit more even though it probably won't be any help. So looking forward to tomorrow afternoon off! Good luck everyone

Heyy.....congrats, you've got through to the interview phase and to me it seems you've done well! Thanks alot for sharing your experience, I think it helps alot...for those who are not quite there and still waiting for the hopeful interview... Lol it's been agess since the deadline and getting worried by the minute.

Just a few things, if you don't mind me asking... when you said how you've done so much and so much revision but then none of that came up? I know this may sound silly but I've come across various applicants saying the EXACT same thing lol. So could you pls clarify what you mean by this... was it you've done revision on your specialism but none of that came up... hence so what sort of questions came up?

You mentioned Logical testing.... questions simillar to the logical reasoing online test?

Lol It's a massive relief interviewers seem nice, hope that's the same with all posts haha...
Sorry above msg was for FID10 but bigbanggeek can answer as well...Obviously I've lost the plot lol :P

Hey
You've head back? :/
I dunno, I haven't heard anything yet so I am gonna give it till I hear back from England's then contact Scoland and chase it up.......worriedddddd :frown:

Lol the deadline was actually a way way ago yeeah...

Let me know how your interview goes for you....and alll the best.....and keep calm....ahhhhhhhhhhhh
Does anyone know which stage they request references?

I know I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here as they don't even notify for interviews for my stream until next week, but I haven't been able to get in touch with one of my (would-be) referees and I'm getting a bit worried that if I do get an interview, I won't be able to send my references in time.
