can i study in finland with a B in biology A level?

with a B in biology A level, maths and chemistry grades ( probably C or D) can i study in finland? has anybody done this? the courses are in english and no tuition fees, but do you know the entry requirments? and is the degree recognised?

I looked this up and it seems that getting into university in Finland is difficult and some institutions have entry exams.

However I would think that the biggest problem with going to Finland from the UK would be living costs. Finland is very, very expensive. Compared with the UK, food is very expensive.

u sure about that bro? but i wouldnt be paying 9k a year tuition fees and do u know what the entry exams are? i wana do biology

It said on the website that I looked at that the individual institutions said what their entry requirements were and whether there were entry exams.

Typically in Scandinavia, the only entry requirements are that you have "completed" secondary school study - ie, that you have passed your A Levels. Finland requires additional entrance tests as well. However, some unis and some courses have different requirements, especially for specialist subjects - if you can't find these on the university's website, then you should maybe give their admissions department a call to be sure about this.

I would imagine your grades are probably fine to get admitted.

As for cost, it's true that living costs are very high in all of scandinavia, but you're right that you will probably pay less overall than in the UK, due to lack of tuition fees. Some universities and other institutions offer scholarships to help with costs.

Just looked at the link to the Nordland course you posted - yeah, from what it says there under admissions requirements, it looks like you just need to have passed A Levels in Maths and Physics/Chemistry/Biology. I'm not sure if that means it wants A Levels in all three sciences or just one of them. Also, I'm not sure if they'd want a C or above, or if any grade is fine. Either way, your B is definitely good enough, but you may want to try extra hard for a C in your other subjects, just in case. There won't be any other entry tests or requirements, so I think you'll be fine. But again, don't take my word for it - give them a call to make sure!
