What do they mean by that?

I could understand the central line being nicknamed crimerail- considering the areas it passes through

You mean like Notting Hill and Holland Park?
District line is my closest. Most used would be Jubilee and Central lines.
Metropolitan Line.

I was thinking Stratford, Acton,Leyton and Ealing Broadway

Plus Notting Hill is anywhere but safe when the carnival is on!

Northern. One of my least favourite lines, second only to the Circle line (at least the Northern's lights are consistently on!)

Jubilee Line - North Greenwich, unless you count the DLR and then it's Woolwich Arsenal.
