Highly saturated and Confused! Civil or Mechanical?

Hello there people of TSR!

I need an urgent advice... I'm stuck between Civil engineering and Mechanical Engineering. I really am confused. Which one of these has a better scope? Because it's not just about interest, I must know that if I'm going to get anything out of my hard work. So please Help me!! it's bugging me up!

P.S. I'm a girl! :biggrin:D
Both civil and mechanical engineering have good job prospects.

Do you want to build bridges or machines?

Well, I'd preferably build machines. But I heard job prospects for Civil is better. Is it true? and that there are too many mechanical engineers already?

Thanks

I'd suggest having a look at www.unistats.ac.uk - there's lots of info available on the relative employment prospects of different courses.
Mechanical has more scope than civil since it's a broader discipline.
