They find the midpoint of the line and STATE that it is equal to (b,2a) which is correct. They then solve the corresponding equations correctly.

How do you find a midpoint?
Add x1 and x2 and divide by 2, same with y coordinates.
And you know that centre is a midopoint, you have its coordinates given so you make the two things equal!

You are given 2 information:
2 points - what you do is to find the midpoint, its true that when you divide 2a-4 by 2 you get a-2
but you know that the midpoint is a circle centre so 2a-4/2=2a
since you are given the coordinates of a circle centre
