PLZ help with my finance! Desperate!

Hello guys I really want some help about my financial circumstance :frown:

I a home student and I am going to university in London next year, namely LSE, the fees are £8500 per year which is covered by loans.

According to my student finance calculator I am eligible for 0 grants and 7.5k per year in maintenance loans.

I calculated the lowest (e.g Accom 150 per week, food 20 per day, )and include part time job (10 hours for 20 weeks)etc and I still need 6k per year.

My parents won't support me because I am suppose to do part time job and work my ass off during uni to support myself, and they are still dissing me about I should've worked hard to earn money during yr12-13 instead of doing sport etc.

So I am really gutted not sure what to do now. :s
£20 in food per day? Where are you planning on doing your food shopping? Even for London that's expensive for a student.

You say you need £6k a year and you get £7.5k in loans to cover your living costs, I don't see what the issue is unless I've misread it?

£20 a day in London is pretty reasonable/standard for expenses, not including rent. That comes to £140 per week, so £560 per month. They say for London universities, you're looking at expenses of around £1000 per month including rent, so that's not far off.

People on JSA live on less then that! £10 a day would cover you everything food wise.
£20 per DAY for food is ridiculous. I live on £20 per WEEK. What on earth are you planning to eat?!

You look like you have more than enough money tbh. Your accommodation will be around the £6k mark. So you'll have £1,500 left over from your Maintenance Loan, plus your PT job which would bring in around £1300 for the year, and that is if you're on minimum wage. So, just under £3k is more than enough to live on - to eat and what not.

Thx for ur reply.

Well when said £20 on food it's not exactly that, it's £20 per day include everything. Alcohol, food, membership or whatever together. And I mean after I used my 7.5k I am still 6k short.

As I replied to others, it's not exactly £20 purely on food but everything that I need for that day. Maybe drinks/food/membership/others trivials. Sry for not making it clear. I won;t have it as I still need 6k after I used all of my maintenance on accom + others.

Accommodation -
There is accommodation cheaper than £150. Some are more like £115. So I'll use £150.

£125 per week x 40 weeks = £5000

Other -
That leaves £2500. £2500 / 30 weeks term time leaves over £80 per week. That can be used half for food half for memberships, books etc. Then money from your part time job can be used for anything else, socialising etc.
