If you aren't gay then why on earth would you engage in homosexual activities fullstop , I don't understand , that is why I think experimenting is stupid . Homosexuals tend to say they were born gay , if you aren't gay then .

Curiosity. In this case, it sounds like the OP just simply wasn't interested - which is absolutely fine. But for two people that maybe consider themselves straight but have that thought in the back of their mind that of "what if" - why should they not be allowed to experiment?

I'm personally not convinced of the "born gay" argument and I'm a gay man myself. I know for sure that it's not a choice, but could I really say that I was born gay? No. I don't think so. There's not a huge amount of scientific evidence on this subject, so I'm not going to widely speculate with what anecdotal evidence I can provide.

Yeah you fail to remember it , that's why you see groups of guys snogging each other down the pub or at a football match right ? Its just something you don't do .

This is not a comparable example.

Society hasn't conditioned me at all , these are my opinions based on my subjective attitudes and morals . Society has evidently conditioned you to be too open minded and tolerant of anything whatsoever.

Attitudes and morals that you've absorbed from society and your peers. As we live in a sex-negative, heteronormative society, I'm fairly sure I've not been conditioned to think the way I do. In fact, until quite recently, my opinions were fairly congruent to yours, but I realised that actually, sex is a really good thing. Done safely, experimentation and the enjoyment of sex should be encouraged, rather than frowned upon. That's not to say that I've suddenly started using Grindr and hooking up with randomers for sex because I haven't, but for those that wish to do that, I no longer frown upon them (providing they're being sensible and looking after their sexual health of course). Why? Because all they're doing is expressing themselves in a fundamentally healthy and pleasurable way.
Remember falling asleep in my mates bed after a night out. Turns out he decided it would be funny if he shaved one of my eyebrows off during the night, and he still thinks its funny the **** lol. But on a serious note that does sound rather gay, talk to him about it when your all sobered up.

Out of interest , are you gay bro ?

Mature individual my arse . Im sure the vast majority of guys would have some sort of problem with a close mate coming on to them .

Yes I am. And I'm sure the would, because their lad culture has taught them one important lesson... "No Homo". When you actually analyse what's happened here, the OP's friend has simply suggested that he'd like to experiment with the OP. The OP said no. End of story. An mature person would realise that by saying no, that should be the end of that and that they should be quite flattered that someone found them attractive.

I can see a lot of positive takeaways from this kind of engagement.
He was just teasing you, don't take it too seriously, happens all the time where i come from. However if you still believe otherwise, your gut feeling would tell you what to do.

Or if you really want to test if he was gay you could ask him on an outing to the cinema or mcdonalds or something. Would be a good laugh to get your own back or whatever you prefer.

Instead of me driving him back home, he instead texted a person in discrete to get a lift. I caught a glimpse of his text message, didn't mean to look and it said: "was at a milfs house, lol". But yeah, he woke up and waited for the girl to ring and he left. So yeah I think he might be embarrassed or so.

Bugger. Yeah, he's holding the awkward balloon this morning by the sounds of things. I'd definitely recommend talking to him about it as he's probably feeling pretty embarrassed and might not know how to respond to what happened.

I guess you'd have to be quite mature, its just the fact that if it was a friend I would find it awkward

Yeah, it'd be pretty awkward, but it's down to you as to how much of an issue you make it.

Tits ? Who the hell brought up your chest size , is that an insecurity of yours or something.

I was referring to values regarding sexuality and dos or donts.

Not everyone associate values in a moralistic sense to their sexuality, biscuit.

I was trying to make a point about your baiting, vague statement whilst also reference you asking me for pics earlier.

At least I can be honest about my flaws and insecurities. Why do you feel so compromised. It's not like some guy just got into bed with you and asked to ****.

MadVlad has said everything that needs to be said in a concise and fair manner. I'm not even being biased here... People Rated me down for saying I didn't like gay pride parades and sexuality being rubbed in people's faces... Can't win, lol...

Friend: do you what to have sex?
You: no
..Both fall asleep...
Ok, so I can see how this may be awkward for anyone regardless of orientation, but nothing happened, and your friend is still the same person you liked to begin with, so, I wouldn't look to into it.
Perhaps, you could tell your friend, if you want to, that if he needs to talk then you're there for him, and that he's a good friend of yours and you care lots for him. And perhaps subtly add at an appropriate time that you're not gay, and personally would not like toexperiement.
Anyway, good luck.

Oh my god what a reliable source. The same page argues dinasours are a myth.

Well 10% of the population IS gay, so chances are...

Maybe the people who came out as gay did it because people already suspected it so they were like "**** it".

Where have you got 10% from? I think that national polls suggested 4 or 6% (I forget) but Stonewall suggested the number's likely higher and not everyone wanted to divulge their orientation.

Anyway, say it is 10% of the population, that's of the male and female population. So let's be fair and split it 50/50; that means only 5% of the men in the UK are gay. It's very unlikely that percentage also applies to the student population of a boys' school (would assume equal distribution of gay people in every sub-section of society).

Just sayin'.

Haha I didn't actually realise it was a christian website. Its one of multiple sources that I found when I searched what percentage of the population are homosexual. Do you think 10% is correct? I think its ludicrous.

Edit: Oh my goodness, what a horrendous website. Just found this quote on its about section, 'Exodus Global Alliance is a world-wide Christian organization helping people affected by homosexuality and promoting the message that "Change from homosexuality is possible through the power of Jesus Christ."

I apologize for linking it.

This post hurts my head a bit, maybe I haven't been awake long enough. I didn't find out anyone was gay by their behaviour, but when they did come out it was no surprise to me or anyone else as it had already been assumed as a result of their behaviour. It sounds plausible that there would have been people who went through high school without anyone noticing but I can only speak for people I knew reasonably well and no-one came out and shocked people. It was already known if they were.

I think there would have to be something strange in the water for 10% of the boys in my school to be gay.

Agreed.

Lol. Easily it's as high as 10%, from people I know anyway. Last year there were 50 guys left my school, and it turns out 6 of them were gay and at least 3 bi openly once they went to uni (and I only was able to guess one). Two of my close mates were actually boyfriends :L. Didn't find out until a couple of months ago. Before I made 'gay friends' I thought they only existed in Eastenders, but I think sexuality is more open to discussion now... So yeah 10% is realistic if not a conservative estimate.

lol no, it would mean that 10% of men and 10% of women were gay...

Why do you think it isn't equally distributed?

I hope you wouldn't mind providing the evidence for this estimate? Be nice to know if it's backed up by a scientific journal or the Daily Fail.

You had a tally in your school with crap loads of angst teenagers that like to ride the waves of being "so liberal," and took it to be a significant and accurate representation of the whole population? Had any of these bisexuals/homosexuals actually done the deed, or as I suspect just saying they're bisexual/gay?

I see a great career ahead of you. Just nothing science based.
You seem like such a lovely person but I guess if they told you OR lets see they were oh I don't know, kissing where no one could see them when you go looking for one of them and find them in a really unexpected place. Yes its not science, but has it occurred to you that numbers of gay and bisexuals are on the rise. And actually, half of the people who are gay/ bi don't want to be found out weirdly enough and spend the time when we are watching sexuality liberalisation videos squirming in their seats. You have to actually go to my school to understand but unfortunately that's is not possible.

"10% of the population" means of the whole population, both men and women. If you mean just one or the other, you'd have to specify. "The population" is everyone by definition.

Because that's just how social distribution works; it's actually pretty interesting. London has a higher concentration of people who are not-of-British-origin, HIV-positive, and homosexual than anywhere else in the UK. I am from Cornwall, and here there are exceptionally few people who fall into any of the aforementioned categories. Possible reasons could be better job opportunities and the pre-existing communities of people from similar ethnic backgrounds for immigrants to join, most accessible and specialised healthcare, and most social opportunities and acceptance for each of the categories respectively.

Haha that wouldn't freak me out at all but thanks for the information. I shall file it away for my upcoming project on discerning how many people are gay.

Funny. Although I do think some of us did do an official count a few months ago... But just saying because some girls completely freaked after hearing that so...

Haha you've done some dodgy maths there :p:
If there's 100 people in the world and 10% are gay - 10 are gay right...
Now you said assume they are equally split - 5 women 5 men.

And let's say that the population is exactly 50 women 50 men.
5 men out of 50 are gay - so still 10% :p:

Just sayin....

It really isn't out of the question. Why should friends not be able to experiment? I fail to remember the section in the "Bro code" where it clearly states that two friends that consent and are open to experimentation may absolutely never act on those desires.

Society and "lad culture" particularly has conditioned you to think in a very closed-minded and sex-negative way. So please... continue - explain how we're so wrong?

If you're a straight guy, ****ing another guy IS out of the question. That was the point the other poster was making not the tangent you seem to have gone on..

LOL...no inhibitions there! he sure is a gay in the closet or maybe one of those men who love banging guys but claim they're not gay. Either way, what the heck do you do sleeping in the same bed with your friend..it's very odd for guys to do that...can't say I'm surprised he tried on on ya:rolleyes:
