Ah well :frown: Good luck with microbiology! That's probably next in line after the ones that have already been mentioned, along with genetics, as their interviews are on the second day. Hopefully this means we'll hear within the week!


Thanks :smile: but the fact they're only interviewing 15 and there are only 5 places doesn't instil me with much hope :tongue:

Seeing as you've had an interview, thought you'd be a good person to ask! On the Facebook group, it's been suggested that candidates have to take some sort of test...is this true?! Last year there wasn't so I wondered if they'd altered the interview process :s

I was a bit confused by those FB posts too. I went to the first day of Medical Physics interviews and there was no mention of any tests then.

I want to know this too. There have been rumours of repeat psychometric tests like the ones we had to take in the application process to check people didn't cheat them. Nobody who has had an interview has mentioned them (I think), and it would be hugely unfair if some people had to re-take them on top of the interview nerves. There's no way I could pass them under those conditions :eek:

Ahh hopefully not then! There was talk of repeat tests last year bit nothing ever came of it, but there was a comment yesterday by a group admin saying something about each theme having different tests...so I got a bit worried!!!

Ye I was confused by that comment too, there was no seperate test but obviously 2 of hte tables tested your scientific knowledge where the questions would be theme related, so maybe that's what they meant by it

Microbiology has not gone out yet -(as per our update above. We will post as soon as we have any news. However I can confirm that Microbiology is being process now and ALL Microbiology candidates will hear by COP today if not than you must contact the helpdesk not this page.

It was a comment on the "BREAKING NEWS - IMPORTANT STP INTERVIEW UPDATE" post from 25th March - that's where all the updates seem to be going.

Yeah, I just had a look at mine and it says it's still processing the application...what specialism did you apply for?

I just got my unsuccessful email through for micro! Really tough competition this year! Was my final year of applying so I guess now I really have to commit to my clinical research career! At least I have a good plan B! Good luck everyone else

Aww no :frown: At least you have another plan! If I don't get this I'm just going to keep hunting for jobs on the NHS site and hope one wants me...*sigh*...
I'm on the reserved list for Micro.
Fingers crossed for some drop outs/none attenders.
If anyone was on the reserve list last year, did any1 make it through? Or am I just clinging on to no hope?
