I've been given a conditional offer I can't get, help!?

I finished school last year and took a gap year. My grades when I left school were BCC. I retook two modules in January independant of my previous college and moved my grades to BBB this allowed me to apply to do radiography.

I applied to Exeter who require CBB-ABB and I had my interview. They gave me a conditional yesterday on the condition that I get an ABB grade.... The problem is I can't improve them as I have already left school. I've rung Exeter admissions and they say there is nothing that can be done.

I feel this is really unfair, other people have been offered BBB or CBB. I know that the conditional is within their requested grades and they're probably within their rights to offer an ABB, but it is just so frustrating . I spent the first six months working a full time jobs and revising for two modules. Only to be told I have to get an unobtainable grade to go to their university.

Can anyone offer me some advice?

Do you think you could take an exam again and get an A? I'm sure you've thought of that but it's the only thing I can think of..

Thats weird. Did the university already know that you had left school and were on a gap year? I would say maybe call the head of the radiography department as it is his course. If that doesn't work, on results day try and get a place when others miss out on the grade.

That is pretty unfair. I think the best thing you could do is try and persuade them to lower the grades required since it's too late to enter for exams. Who knows, they may well accept you anyway, especially considering the number of people applying for uni has gone down so much.

My God, and I thought Exeter was a Good university. Surely they don't offer to people with 'Cs' *that* often.

I got BCC and I'm going to Durham.

I wasn't the person you were replying to so I'm not "mad bro" haha, I'm just wondering what you have applied to do? I assumed all their courses were AAA or thereabouts.

Biomedical Science with a foundation year. I've got good GCSE's, reasonable A-Levels...just had a bit of a crap second year of sixth form

I rang them this morning and admissions said there was nothing to be done . Thanks Alex360, I will try and contact the head of radiography and maybe they could help me out.

If anyone has experience with this or with Exeter's admissions process I would be grateful to hear more advice.

Edit: About retaking, The two CCs I had were both 5 ums points off a B. I got two A's in january but I would still need to get another 40 ums to go up a grade, it would be fairly difficult.
