I'm not sure if they use ammonia in rocket fuel. Nitrogen is a better rocket fuel than hydrogen - the triple covalent bond is one of the hardest bonds in the world so far to break; the kJ mol^-1 required to break it is very high but the benefit of this is that this enthalpy change produces a lot of energy for rockets.

Does it scare you? Good.

But I hope that answers your question.
