1) Year 12
2) Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Spanish.
3) 4 lessons each of an hour each, so 4 hours.
4) I do my A-levels in Spain so this may vary, but I have 5 hours of free and 6 hours of compulsory study period.
5) Very happy, although the Spanish lessons are incredibly boring(I'm going to drop it next year - only taking it this year for points)
6) That depends on the subject.
7) Hopefully study Biochemistry or Biomedical Science.
8) I was happy with my IGCSE's, although not as good as most people on TSR:
A* Maths, AB Science (Double Award), A* Spanish (taken in year 10), A French, A English Language, B English Lit, B P.E, A IT.
9) Depends on subject. Spanish - too much, Maths - a little and Biology & Chemistry a fair amount.
10) I started the year studying 2/3 hours per night, after the January exams that's go down to 0/1 hour :/ haha

3) 5 hours 20 minutes on each subject
4) 7 hours 20 minutes for study (i don't go Pe haha)
5) 100% yes
6) yes  and a big expandable folder has lasted me through the whole year, though i have done about a hundred pages of notes for each subject
7) Biology at Imperial, oxford or UCL
8) 5A*s and 6 As
9) To be honest, not a lot, the teachers mainly expect us to revise
10) I don't work in the evenings, i work during my study periods (which a lot don't at my school) and the weekend and a lot during holidays

1) What year are you in?
Year 11

2) What subjects are you taking/planning to take?
GCSEs: English Lit, English Lang, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, History, Maths, Spanish and ICT.

For A-Level: English Literature, Philosophy, History and Sociology/Economics.

3) How many hours a week do you do each subject?
Depends on the subject. For science it's about 9/10 hours because I do triple and for individual options it's 3 hours a week, then for core it's 6 hours.

4) How many hours a week do you have free period/ study breaks?
None :frown:

5) Are you happy with the subjects you took?
I guess so. We had a really limited range of options. I wish I picked Art instead of Triple Science as I now have no interest in science

6) Do you take notes, if so how many folders roughly do you fill up after how long?
Nope, only for Maths. Otherwise, I use the exam board textbooks and annotate those.

7) What do you plan to do after sixth form? E.g What do you want to be/study at university?
English Literature (or combined honours in that and maybe History or Philosophy) and then hopefully a secondary PGCE!

8) What were your GCSE results? (Years 12 & above) or Prediction Results (Years 11)
A*A*A*AAAAB (+ 2 Distinctions) The B should hopefully come out as an A though

9) How much work do you get?
Not much. I usually spend about and hour or so doing homework at the weekend and about 20 minutes of homework every other day during the week.

10) How many hours do you study on a general night? (no specific test coming up)
None :colondollar: Although after the Easter break I'll increase that to about one to two hours.

1) What year are you in?

Year 11

2) What subjects are you taking/planning to take?

GCSEs: RE, PE, French, History and Drama

A Levels: Philosophy and Ethics (Compulsory), History, French and Psychology.

3) How many hours a week do you do each subject?

For core subjects it's around 4.5 and For chosen subjects it's 2.5 hours, but it varies.

4) How many hours a week do you have free period/ study breaks?

None :'(

5) Are you happy with the subjects you took?

100%

6) Do you take notes, if so how many folders roughly do you fill up after how long?

Hmm I do take notes, I have a folder for each subject I take. They're all kind of overflowing but that's after two years of note making during lessons and at home for the subject.

7) What do you plan to do after sixth form? E.g What do you want to be/study at university?

Law with French Law or History with French at either Oxford or Cambridge

8) What were your GCSE results? (Years 12 & above) or Prediction Results (Years 11)

All A*'s (which I have absolutely no hope of achieving😂)

9) How much work do you get?

Around two hours worth of work each night.

10) How many hours do you study on a general night? (no specific test coming up)

If I have no upcoming exams then I don't study I just do homework. Since I have GCSE's approaching, on a school night I try to do 4 hours of revision. But I probably do 2 hours I f revision and 2 hours of procrastinating.

1) What year are you in?

Year 12

2) What subjects are you taking/planning to take?

Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Economics (probably Additional Further Maths as well).

3) How many hours a week do you do each subject?

14 hours for all maths, 6 hours for physics, 6 hours for economics.

4) How many hours a week do you have free period/ study breaks?

6 hours.

5) Are you happy with the subjects you took?

Yes.

6) Do you take notes, if so how many folders roughly do you fill up after how long?

No, I don't take notes. Notes are next to useless for maths/physics (for me anyway) and I just get some decent notes off google for econ.

7) What do you plan to do after sixth form? E.g What do you want to be/study at university?

I plan to study maths at uni.

8) What were your GCSE results? (Years 12 & above) or Prediction Results (Years 11)

7 A*'s and 2 A's (IGCSEs)

9) How much work do you get?

What, homework? Don't know and don't really care, I never do homework.

10) How many hours do you study on a general night? (no specific test coming up)

None, except for about a month before A-level exams, or if I have to self-study a module. Maybe some maths here and there for fun, but otherwise nothing.

Heres some general questions Im always curious about.

1) What year are you in?

13.

2) What subjects are you taking/planning to take?

History at AS, RS, Politics, and Philosophy at A2.

3) How many hours a week do you do each subject?

Hmmm, well I probably do three or four hours a day, if not more (that's outside lessons and including frees). On the weekends I don't usually do much, a few hours probably, and usually all on Sunday afternoon

4) How many hours a week do you have free period/ study breaks?

I have an average of 2 frees every day, which I almost exclusively devote to working so I don't have as much to take home.

5) Are you happy with the subjects you took?

Very happy  I just thought 'what are my favourite things to study?' and there they are. It doesn't feel like so much work if you enjoy the subjects, so you will usually do more work and get better results. Do the subjects you enjoy most, unless you are terrible at them, which is not usually the case

6) Do you take notes, if so how many folders roughly do you fill up after how long?

Politics and Philosophy give us detailed worksheet packs to fill in/revise from, so I don't make many notes outside that. I got 6 big packs for Philosophy (but that's just because there is ALLOT to learn in that subject), and around 10 much smaller packs for politics. For RS, I have 2 not very full folders, one for each side of the course.

7) What do you plan to do after sixth form? E.g What do you want to be/study at university?

After 6th Form, I'm hoping, if I make my offer grades, to study Theology at Cambridge, or if I don't, Durham. After that, who knows

8) What were your GCSE results? (Years 12 & above) or Prediction Results (Years 11)

7A*s, 2As, and 1B (don't judge me, it was Drama and only 1 mark off an A! )

9) How much work do you get?

Total: 1 Politics essay, 1 Philosophy essay, 6 Philosophy work sheets, and a good deal of Politics work sheets. None usually for RS at A2. It's not much, but apparently I have it light compared to scientists, I can't verify that, but I will say I have it light compared to A2 historians and English students.

10) How many hours do you study on a general night? (no specific test coming up)

People do that? With no test coming up? Why? I think they told us to do this at the start of the year, but no one has

:smile::wink::p:o:biggrin::rolleyes::cool:

Workload isn't as scary as they make you think at GCSE, I hardly noticed a step up. It will only feel hard if you haven't been doing much work up to then

Yeah I did double as well, and got a C in core science but I'm perfectly able to after hard work do the mechanics work in maths, it really depends if your willing to go through loads of effort, because at the start of sixth form I was on an E for maths due to not being exposed to A* material at gcse, but then got 98 in my latest alevel exam. Don't be discouraged from taking something because its challenging !

A lot of people take stuff early... if you know it (or are clever enough) you might as well

1) What year are you in?

Year 12.

2) What subjects are you taking/planning to take?

Maths, Psychology, Computing and Economics.

3) How many hours a week do you do each subject?

5 hours a week for each subject.

4) How many hours a week do you have free period/ study breaks?

5 hours a week.

5) Are you happy with the subjects you took?

Yes. One of the reasons I decided to move schools was for the subject choice. In hindsight I would've chosen something else over Economics, like Physics or Further Maths. However, I'll be dropping it at the end of the year, so it doesn't matter too much.

6) Do you take notes, if so how many folders roughly do you fill up after how long?

I do and it depends on the subject. Psychology and Economics require more note-taking than Maths and Computing. It's difficult to determine how many folders I fill up since I don't keep my notes in folders. Pretty unorganised, so that's something I'll improve on next year.

7) What do you plan to do after sixth form? E.g What do you want to be/study at university?

I would like to go to University to study Computer Science, and take a year abroad to study in a university in a different country.

8) What were your GCSE results? (Years 12 & above) or Prediction Results (Years 11)

3A*s and 7As.

9) How much work do you get?

A fair amount, but not as much as I had expected. A lot of it comes down to how much you put into the lessons and what you are doing outside of school to keep on top of your subjects. I didn't follow this and revising becomes pretty difficult, so I'd definitely recommend keeping on top of everything, such as going over the topics you covered in the previous lesson.

10) How many hours do you study on a general night? (no specific test coming up)

I don't study when I don't have exams coming up, but when I do I prefer to set myself targets, not hours.

Nope! Every year nine a few people (7 in my year) are chosen to do history gcse early
1) year 12.
2) english literature, english language, history, maths.
3) i have six lessons of each a week, so around six hours.
4) six hours.
5) definitely.
6) it depends, i have a general notebook for both english's and history which roughly fills up once every term, i have two folders for history, a folder for english language and then i have an exercise book for maths (i'm on my fifth one now.)
7) i want to study english lit at university.
8) 7a*, 1a (ew spanish ) and two distinction*'s (i'm still not entirely sure how they differ from a distinction buuuut).
9) quite a bit i guess, but it's all doable. i generally get set an essay for both english's and history a week, and then a short test in maths to cover the most recent topic for homework.
10) um like very little if at all :s-smilie:
