In school, it depends... About 4/5 hours depending on subject! This is per fortnight
4) How many hours a week do you have free period/ study breaks?
Next year, I think I'll have a few? Not a large number by any means, and they'll be used for self teaching f.maths probably.

I think I will be.

3) 4 lessons each of an hour each, so 4 hours.
4) I do my A-levels in Spain so this may vary, but I have 5 hours of free and 6 hours of compulsory study period.
5) Very happy, although the Spanish lessons are incredibly boring(I'm going to drop it next year - only taking it this year for points)

Nope, only for Maths. Otherwise, I use the exam board textbooks and annotate those.

English Literature (or combined honours in that and maybe History or Philosophy) and then hopefully a secondary PGCE!
8) What were your GCSE results? (Years 12 & above) or Prediction Results (Years 11)
A*A*A*AAAAB (+ 2 Distinctions) The B should hopefully come out as an A though
9) How much work do you get?
Not much. I usually spend about and hour or so doing homework at the weekend and about 20 minutes of homework every other day during the week.
10) How many hours do you study on a general night? (no specific test coming up)
None
Although after the Easter break I'll increase that to about one to two hours.

Hmmm, well I probably do three or four hours a day, if not more (that's outside lessons and including frees). On the weekends I don't usually do much, a few hours probably, and usually all on Sunday afternoon

I have an average of 2 frees every day, which I almost exclusively devote to working so I don't have as much to take home.

Very happy
I just thought 'what are my favourite things to study?' and there they are. It doesn't feel like so much work if you enjoy the subjects, so you will usually do more work and get better results. Politics and Philosophy give us detailed worksheet packs to fill in/revise from, so I don't make many notes outside that. I got 6 big packs for Philosophy (but that's just because there is ALLOT to learn in that subject), and around 10 much smaller packs for politics. For RS, I have 2 not very full folders, one for each side of the course.

After 6th Form, I'm hoping, if I make my offer grades, to study Theology at Cambridge, or if I don't, Durham. After that, who knows

It's not much, but apparently I have it light compared to scientists, I can't verify that, but I will say I have it light compared to A2 historians and English students.

oWorkload isn't as scary as they make you think at GCSE, I hardly noticed a step up. It will only feel hard if you haven't been doing much work up to then

How come you are in Year 11 yet studying AS already? Surely you must be in Year 12?

The bit where you said you can do so much with hard work is so primising. I already know I will be bottom of my class because I take Core science at the moment yet want to do biology and chemistry next year for a level. Everyone else i know thats doing it already does triple so will be ahead of me. However i am determined to work very hard.

The bit where you said you can do so much with hard work is so primising. I already know I will be bottom of my class because I take Core science at the moment yet want to do biology and chemistry next year for a level. Everyone else i know thats doing it already does triple so will be ahead of me. However i am determined to work very hard.
Yeah I did double as well, and got a C in core science but I'm perfectly able to after hard work do the mechanics work in maths, it really depends if your willing to go through loads of effort, because at the start of sixth form I was on an E for maths due to not being exposed to A* material at gcse, but then got 98 in my latest alevel exam. Don't be discouraged from taking something because its challenging !

Yes. One of the reasons I decided to move schools was for the subject choice. In hindsight I would've chosen something else over Economics, like Physics or Further Maths. However, I'll be dropping it at the end of the year, so it doesn't matter too much.

I do and it depends on the subject. Psychology and Economics require more note-taking than Maths and Computing. It's difficult to determine how many folders I fill up since I don't keep my notes in folders. Pretty unorganised, so that's something I'll improve on next year.
7) What do you plan to do after sixth form? E.g What do you want to be/study at university?
I would like to go to University to study Computer Science, and take a year abroad to study in a university in a different country.

A fair amount, but not as much as I had expected. A lot of it comes down to how much you put into the lessons and what you are doing outside of school to keep on top of your subjects. I didn't follow this and revising becomes pretty difficult, so I'd definitely recommend keeping on top of everything, such as going over the topics you covered in the previous lesson.

I don't study when I don't have exams coming up, but when I do I prefer to set myself targets, not hours.

Nope! Every year nine a few people (7 in my year) are chosen to do history gcse early
