I say scone, but my mum says scon. For some reason it irritates me when she says it like that though, not sure why. It ust doesn't sound right.
Scon and I'm from Buckinghamshire haha (agreed on by my mum from North Yorkshire and my dad from London)
Scone as in moan.
Scone.

Does it depend where you're from? I live in Derbyshire and round my area I've never heard anyone use 'scon'

I don't think I've ever heard it pronounced 'scone' here in Edinburgh - perhaps it's one of these regional variations?

But, the real question should be; jam with butter or clotted cream?

It's got to be clotted cream hasn't it? It's just more British

"Scon" is the correct pronunciation. I remember David Mitchell talking about it.
I don't think I've ever mentioned that word in my life.

Scon.
scon for me. I once said scone and my dad shouted at me for it.
As both are accepted, and don't change the word's meaning, it doesn't really matter.

The 'gone/cone' argument is pretty common, and I also think it depends on where you are in the country as to which pronunciation is more widely accepted.

But always with Cream and jam or not?

Not for a cheese scone.
Normally it is scone,
But once you've eaten it, it's scon.

I say "scon", and definitely the cream first! It's difficult trying to apply the cream over a waxy jam (no innuendo intended).

However, my mum says "scone", but then again she pronounces "goal" as "g-oh-el" and bowling as "b-oah-ling". Proper posh!

Scon if there's one. Scone(s) if there's more than one.
Finally worked out why it took me so long to decide which I actually say!
