How does OCR MEI compare to other exam boards?

Edexcel seems to be very popular, but MEI, not so much. Why? Just curious.

MEI is often considered to be very challenging and a bit bizarre :tongue:

How so, what about it is challenging/bizarre out of interest?

i've had a look through past papers for corresponding units from the regular OCR board, it's all the same content just a different layout. Maybe exam boards ouside of these 2 are different...

No, the content in MEI is slightly different, particularly their further pure. The module names are also a bit odd and the manner in which the questions apply what you know is a little bit more challenging.
