The question asked what was the ionic equation for CuO(s) + H2SO4 (aq)
I thought it was Cu2+(s) +SO4(2-)(aq) -> CuSO4(aq)
The answer is CuO(s) + H2(+)(aq) -> Cu(2+)aq +H2O (l)
I understand mine is wrong because you can't have solid copper ions.
Can someone tell me how to correctly decide which ions are spectators to the reaction in general so i can do questions of this type?
Thanks alot!
