UMS for 'A'

Hi all!

How many UMS points do you need overall in Edexcel GCE (AS) to get an overall 'A' in Mathematics. I know that the total is 300 UMS (3 exams), but I'm having trouble finding out how much is needed for A.

Thanks!

You need to score 80% overall for an A (i.e. 240/300).

It's the same for other subjects at AS:
80% overall = A
70% overall = B
60% = C
etc.

How many UMS would you need to get an A* in A2 maths then, along with AS?

A* is slightly more complicated, and even more so for maths! You need to get:
- at least 480/600 overall in all your modules; and
- at least 180/200 overall in C3 and C4.

The A* is a bit different. You need to score:

80% average over the whole A-Level (i.e. score at least 480/600 overall).
90% average over C3 and C4 (i.e. score at least 180/200 on C3 and C4).
