Many congratulations and thank you for letting us know.

I can't believe how nerve racking the waiting is. Hopefully all the emails will come through soon though. Do you mind me asking which trust in London you had the offer for? London was one of the regions I selected.

I'm with the King's College Hospital Trust! Congrats on your offer aswell!
A quick question to anyone already on the STP scheme for medical physics training at Royal Liverpool University Hospital, what specialisms are offered in the second and third years?

Many thanks

We're big on radiotherapy, with the majority of both years going that way, mainly because we've got a very big radiotherapy centre.

If you're not keen then they're open to the option of radiation safety or ionising imaging (specifically nuclear medicine). Non-ionising will be difficult.

Does anyone have any information on how the course is run at St George's?
We must be at different hospitals for each rotation so its rather difficult to work out where to find somewhere to live!

Hey I have been placed at St Georges for clinical engineering!

I have spoken to another trainee (although a totally different region) and they used to stay in hospital accomodation for the first year as you move around so much! So hopefully we will be able to do that too. Apparently you can leave at very short notice and your not tied in for a year or anything so its would be really good for us!

guys, if i had my interview last week (genetics), and if people start getting answers now for interviews that were held a month ago, means that i will find out in a month?? i really cannot wait anymore.. (but then i must not complain because some people were waiting for a month after their interview..)

I doubt you'll have to wait a month to get an answer. Once interviews are over I'm sure it'll be all hands on deck in terms of working out scores and getting out emails. I mean I doubt you'll hear within the next week but I guess you might have to wait three weeks? Three and a bit? Yup I had to wait five weeks. FIVE WEEKS. I nearly went insaaaane!

Hi everyone,

I have an interview on Thursday for clinical biochemistry and im totally stuck with revision, my degree is in straight chemistry so im not sure where to start with revising the specialism specific questions. Those who have had interviews will my general science knowledge be enough?

Hey Jenny! I had my interview for genetics last week too! How did you find it? I felt like I screwed up two of the four interviews. Really don't like waiting!

When I initially sent the application I have only selected London coz i didnt really care. But then I changed my mind. So when they invited us for interview and we had to complete that thing on the website, on the box where it asked if you want to say something about your preferred location I said if possible to change them and I have put Nottingham, London , Birmingham. I hope they will consider it (if I have the slightest chance to get a place).

I'm guessing London will be very hard to get into. But I want to move somewhere South, as I've been living up in Newcastle for the past 4 years. I'm sure they'll take it into consideration, otherwise they wouldn't ask us to fill that in. Fingers crossed for both of us x

How did everyone's Clinical Biochemistry interviews go?

I found that the interviewers were all really nice but I definitely messed up on one of the stations.

I'm relieved it's over now though. Good luck everyone, roll on June

I interviewed last week and felt two out of the four stations went well, one i'm not sure of and one was awful! Out of interest can anybody from the medical physics specialty (who has had feedback) inform on their point scores as an indication please? I think it's out of a maximum of 80 points, with 20 from each station.....
