Exams entered in wrong name?

If I were you, I'd just go to the exams office (if your school doesn't have one, see the person in charge of exams or just ask at office) and explain to them, they'll sort it out for you. The most important thing is your candidate number. Aslong as you've done your candidate number correctly, and your signature, they'll know it's you. I once wrote Becky rather than Rebecca on an exam(oops) I still got my result back for that exam with no problem. good luck!

Do not worry! It happens surprisingly often (I speak as an ex-exams officer) and is easily corrected. Go and talk to the exams officer.

I still think you may find there isn't a problem at all, as some exams software distinguishes between the name you are normally called by (and calls you that) and the formal name that needs to go on the certificates (and puts that on them). However, if they haven't got your legal name properly recorded then they will change it to the correct one on the school system (having asked for whatever evidence they require from you). The next time they send an electronic amendment file to an exam board (these get sent as often as needed to withdraw people, make late entries, correct mistakes etc) your change of details will be included and the exam board's records will be updated. Job done.

Hey, I spoke to my exams officer and she has changed my name with the exam boards, all that is fine. However, my physics, chemistry and biology ocr gcse controlled assessment marks are being submitted soon. I've seen the submitting sheet thing from ocr, it's a list of the candidate numbers then the names next to them. Then it seems the marks are entered by dashing the correct box, just like doing a lottery ticket. The whole sheet is on paper designed for being scanned with a computer. The name on there is robbie not robinson. So, what if each letter in the name represents a number or something? It won't match the corrected name so will my controlled assessment mark not be added to my exam results due to a computer error? Like what if they add my candidate number to my name values to get a number like 1234-278843993 that doesn't match their system...The exam officer said it's only my candidate number that matters but I'm not convinced

Your exam officer knows better than you. Stop worrying and start studying, your candidate number is all that counts.

Your exams officer is right, only your candidate number will matter so it's fine, OCR will get your controlled assessment papers and mark it correctly to your name. <img src="images/smilies/smile.png" border="0" alt="" title="" smilieid="1" class="inlineimg" /><br />

The name is only needed for your certificate and thats it, otherwise the only important thing is your candidate number. I once only wrote my candidate and centre without my name, but they still got the exam and I still got my results back.

I doubt she knows the ins and outs of how the ocr marks form works when scanned through the computer

It will be fine. The awarding bodies will have a record of all the names they have attached to your UCI and centre no and exam number. This issue has come up loads of times before and there is not a problem. Stop worrying.
