Exams entered in wrong name?

But this is a computer scanning it, not a human

Stop worrying! I promise you it will be fine.

My paper was electronically scanned also (all Edexcel ones are) and even though I didn't write my name my candidate number was all I needed.

Even if I wanted to I could put every exam without my name, but I don't want to take the risk.

I'm sure it does happen all the time but not in the middle of exams being taken/controlled assessments being moderated/marks being submitted

I'd say it happens in most schools, most years, as this is the point when students finally realise that their name has been wrong in the school system for the past 5 years.

I'm just worried that the scanning of the name will matter as it is printed in blank and on paper which has markings repeated all over designed for computer scanning

It's not an exam though, it's a form for submitting marks that my teacher fills out for coursework, the names etc are printed out and my teacher selects the boxes for the mark I achieved, it's then scanned in

Yes I know, but because it has your candidate number you will still get your results. Whether it's an exam, coursework, anything.

I would suggest that you stop being ridiculous ... students with similar experiences, teachers, and a very experienced exams officer, have all told you that you have nothing to worry about

So stop worrying

I'm not being ridiculous. These things do happen. Sometimes exam results aren't added correctly etc. What's to say it won't happen to me? Especially because I have this whole name situation.

This is very true which is why schools get the results 24 hours in advance so they can clear up anomalies

It is extremely unlikely since your exams officer has dealt with it but what if it does .... there will be no long term issues since any error can be rectified

I didn't know they received them the day before, but surely that's just so they can process them and put them onto results slips and in envelopes etc?

Honestly I'm fine about the other stuff mentioned previously and everyone has been really helpful, it's just this thing about my biology chemistry and physics controlled assessment marks that's bothering me because it's just scanned through a computer

No, they are not meant to do that until the Thursday

It is specifically for administrative checking

But you have been told by your exams officer and people on here that there is no issue

You have a UPN

Your UPN is connected to your Examination Number

Your name on any exam documentation is irrelevant

Okay, thank you for the reassurance.

Are you an ex-teacher? And isn't UCI, not UPN?

Yes

But I was referring to your UPN which is the Dfe number you have

They all link

None of them need to to put your correct name on an exam paper
