Oh dear. Is there any chance you can TLP?

If you don't know what TLP is or you don't have it. It stands for The Link Partnership, a group of schools in a particular area 'link' so students can travel (usually via taxi, between lessons) amongst to get their desired timetable without having to change schools. The top four (possibly five) schools in my city have formed a TLP so that they don't 'steal' each other's students.

For example, I go to school X (the best one, according to league tables ) and if I wanted to go to school Y (the second best which specialises in engineering), unless they offered multiple subjects that I wanted to do that my school did not offer, I can't go. But if there's a clash with my chosen subjects at my school then I could TLP to school Y so I can study all the subjects I want. It's inconvenient but better than missing out, I suppose. I'm TLPing maths and f maths next year.

Yeah I thought about that, but it's probably way too late for any nearby schools to arrange that.
does anyone know what the hell you have to do in english literature unit 1 aqa?
on the inspector calls section?

Write an essay answering two out of a possible 3 qs.

I need 159/160 UMS in the next Biology exam to get an A* :mmm:

What did you get in each module last year?

Depending on my coursework... (if it's 95/100 lets say) then I'd need

139/160 I thinj

I don't know about your school but my school don't even arrange it until September. On Thursday I rechose my options (the deadline was December 14th ) and with my superb persuasive skills, I managed to persuade the deputy head - who deals with the post 16 options - to show me the complete timetable for all the TLP schools. It made it easier to make a decision and although you may not be able to ask for this information, I'm sure they won't mind you suggesting TLP. I'm pretty sure it's not too late until about a month in of year 12 where they have to fill in a consensus about their students (or so I'm told).

How about Physics or Chemistry?

I remember almost everything I read... Useless things anyway... So I could tell you the UMS I got for every exam I've done... (bar photography because those numbers were weird)

I do this as well. I'm not super anal about it and I don't make spreadsheets, I know some people do, but I make lists of my exams with the UMS points and remember what I got, what I need to get to reach grades x and y. It's handy for lazy people to find out what they don't have to revise in order to still be successful

I do that!

It's written on my exam entries... The rough ums I need...

Last year I had to make a spreadsheet for private school applications... But yeah

I've been procrastinating and I will be going to revise  Hopefully, I'll be on here a lot more though, it helped with my January exams to have a competitive, yet friendly, base on TSR

Me too, sciences I'm pretty confident for - I only need a B in chemistry for an A* overall and a C in physics to maintain my A (I need 100 UMS for an A* and I don't have the dedication, motivation or prepared disappointment for that one:wink:). Biology, I'm pretty set for an A but I'm retaking B1 as I'm determined for an A*!

I'm really worried about English, I got an A* in the coursework (JUST) but I haven't even read Of Mice and Men all the way through and I keep procrastinating revising for it.

How's your revision coming along? Do you have an idea of your *goal* results? As in, what do you think they'll be like?

Revision is going good  Haha I'm even kind of looking forward to the exams. I did a Chem paper yesterday and I got an A, I was a few marks away from an A* so I went over my mistakes and corrected them. My exam is in around 18 days so I think I can get an A* in it. My first exams are French Listening/Reading. Did a listening paper today and got an A* :woo: which is a relief because I find it harder than the reading test. I think I'm going to get an A overall. Hopefully. I think I'm on a B on the moment which is mostly due to my preparing for controlled assessments the night before . I asked my French teacher if it was possible to get an A and she told me I'll probably get a B :unimpressed: I'll show her.

And I we haven't even started preparing for the English lit different stories exam  I don't know how we're going to do it so I'm probably going to revise for it myself.
Ideally, I want an A* in additional science but I'm probably going to end up with an A. I'm on a low A at the moment because Biology and ISAs can **** off. But hey, I find Chem and Physics easy so maybe I can pull it off.
English I want an A* which I think I can achieve and an A in literature.

Ah, I'm also revising for Geography and History. Turned these two subjects around last week .
For Geography I got a C in the controlled assessment :emo: But I spent the whole day and after school improving it according to the mark scheme. I think I spent around 4hr 30mins on it.. I left school close to 6pm. It was worth it though because the improvements bumped up the grade to an A .
And got an A* on my history controlled assessment which should bring up my grade.
I'd like to get an A* in Geography and an A in History

Aaah, so it's looking good! I'm trying to let nothing drop below an A other than Spanish (I am literally the worst Spanish student, ever - over the past two/three years, I've never handed in my book or done a piece of homework and I'm always up for an excuse to leave the room) and in drama - I'm hoping for a B in both of these.

I'm hoping for A*s in chemistry, biology, English language (I already have this), geography and /possibly/ maths, if I can acquire the motivation to work my butt off for maths in the half term to come. Hopefully, the rest As.

So I should come out with something like -

4/5 A*s
4/5 As
2 Bs

Wow. Looking at it like that, has just made me so much more motivated to revise for English lit.

I know lol, Bs ruin it :frown:

If you need help with Of Mice and Men you can pm me if you want. We did a controlled assessment on it in Year 10 and I got 30/30 on it.

Although I'm not too sure if I can remember the story in detail :s-smilie:

Yeah, the Bs are pretty ugly but I'm doing the foundation listening paper in Spanish , hopefully I'll get at least a D; I got a D in my Spanish reading mock - hopefully that'll move up to a B/C and in my oral I've had a C and I'm waiting for the other one to be marked and in my written pieces I've had two A*s (convenient).

Drama can't really be helped, I shouldn't have taken it.

Oooh, if you have some notes on context that'd be good! I especially need some quotes, I can't find a quote bank anywhere*!

*please don't suggest reading it  That's what my English teacher did.

Hey I did one today too and got the same grade...35/40 :five:...I also want to do better in Geography than History, but with the difference in Controlled assessments I don't know if its possible (A* in History and high B in Geography) :frown:...I want to prove my English teacher wrong the most though!
