It's better to use your 'left-over' case studies from Question 3. If it's National/Regional Identity on Question 3 (which is likely...) you can use Gender, Ethnicity, Age, Events that you have probably learnt in class.
Gender is the easiest. Mulvey's "Male Gaze" applied to 'Casino Royale' (2006) works well as a reversal of this theory. Daniel Craig emerges from the ocean (which is an intertextual reference to Halle Berry (in Die Another Day) and Ursula Andress (in Dr. No). Shows a different and changing cultural aspect to James Bond. Usually it was the female's getting gorped at..and also perhaps looking at Daniel Craig's body is not only just for the female audience? Some male audiences might aspire to this scene too.
Thank you so much! Very helpful. Also, I'm not sure how much to write for each question - what would you suggest?

Hasn't your teacher taught you this?! - Totally depends how quick you write but as a guide:
You should spend around an hour on Question 1 (that's including the extract viewing time..), and 45 mins on the other two. So if you start the exam at 9:00am tomorrow; work on Question 1 till about 10am then answer Question 2 until about 10:45am then Question 3 until 11:30am.
So the general consensus is that national and regional identity will come up? Anyone thought of using 'this is England' for this ?
Also any tips on the questions on the audience for the audio/visual clip we are shown, this one really let me down on my mock.
It's the one that's due.
'This Is England' could be used, though it is 7 years old and the exam board like you to talk about 'in the media today' - stuff in the last 3 years or so.
2a (name two audiences for the extract and why) and 2b (choose one audience and expand) are the easiest questions on the exam paper. You shouldn't struggle with them.

That's true was just an idea. I'll probably go for the idea of britishness i.e Olympic opening ceremony and then MIC and towie
However those questions the substance wasn't really the base of my confusion more of the structure and length of answer
I'm doing music as my media platform for part B of the exam. I see further up people were saying that you answer both parts of section B...for AS-level you only answer one of the questions in section B (AQA exam) Also what is this about regional/ethnicity? Don't think this implies to music does it?
Hey guys, could smb please clarify what do I need to do for 15 or 12 marks question 2 part C? Is it the same as Q3 just less grid analysis from the text to meet the time?

I'm going to do Dizzee Rascal 'Sirens' for ethnicity and Arctic Monkeys 'Leave Before the Lights Come On' for regional nationality. So yh music applies
Came out of the exam feeling slightly unsure. I did not like question 2 on nationality, something I was ill prepared for. What did everyone else think?

hey, what did you all think of the exam? what did you think of the clip? I was unsure of question 2, I properly panicked and couldn't think of anything to put, what did you all do?
I thought the extract was pretty good for what we were looking for, ngl I forgot that audience and representation can be either 16/30 but i pulled through! What examples did people use for 2c?
