I got k as 0 and 12. The tried verifying the values k by subbing it back in the quadratic. Was 9 the proof if so I got 3n for the first one and said that 3 can be taken out. And the 9 part 2 I got 3n^2+2 and said 3 couldn't be removed. Not sure about part 2 though. I got (2,-7) as min point

I'm sure it said minimmum y value though ?

I got that but did you divide it by 3 as means of explaining you couldn't fully divide it by 3 ?

Yeah I got 3n^2 + 2 and divided it by three to show that would not give you an integer. To be on the safe side, I also used 5 in the equation so show it did not work using actual numbers rather than just equations
Doesn't anyone know if there an aqa thread for core 1 exam, sat today?

yeah you only needed y value dont worry

For last question i got K=0 and K= 4
Q 10: Circles
Q11: Polynomials
Q12: Graph drawing
I think I've lost at max 20 marks on this paper - I need ideas of grade boundaries - especially for an A ? Anyone predict - btw though 20 marks is a lot of leeway I think for how many marks I lost

What answers did you get for 10 + 7root5 + 38/(1-2root5)
Original post by Herucles
I think I got everything right apart from retardedly writing 8a^8 instead of 8a^9...

last question was k=0 or 4, by discriminant = 0

distance between chord and centre was root10

on one of them the y intercepts (I think) were 2+root11 and 2-root11

cant remember much else

which y intercept?

That was a very nice paper. FP1 was SO hard :frown:

I think this exam was hell of a lot easier than Jan
The only question that threw me was the last one, finding the value for K...what did everyone else get?
I think I got -1 and 1/4 :/
I'm so confident I got a freaking A
(Got a D last time lol)
I was aiming for full marks, i think i dropped 2-3 on the last question because of a stupid - sign -.-

ah well gotta hope i got the rest of it right

Oh well I don't think they'd mind. What did people get for the f(x+2)

Good. Going by what everyone else got on all the questions and my answers I think I got an A on this paper

Will I have got it wrong if I put both the x and y co-ords for the minimum?

Sad thing is - they have done in the past - exactly the same question was asked and it said 0 for the coordinates ...

I can't remember what question I got the answer for, but did anyone get an answer for one of the questions (I think in Section B) to come out as (1 +/- root57) / 4 ?
