FP2 complex nunbers q

Am I allowed to do the sign changing with mods? Like this... the thing I did at the end.

Absolutely. IF you envisage an argand diagram and a point (a,b) that represents a particular complex number, the magnitutde of z represents the length from the point to the origin (sqrt[x^2+y^2]). If you were to multiply it by -1, it would just be in the opposite direction and hence still the same length.
