I hated that last question. And threshold frequency part from that a good exam :smile:
What happens when intensity's constant and frequency decreases? I put rate of emission decreases until fmin.

How many similarities between hadrons and leptons were we supposed to come up with?

They meant between baryons and mesons I think :P
I reckon I may have finally broken 3 marks on the 6 marker, made a stupid mistake on the first question calculating specific charge. I think grade boundaries will be high
Did anyone get 30000 ohms for the last question?

Nah mate, they meant between Leptons and Hadrons, as far as I could tell. I wrote the differences between both of them anyway. But I think they meant leptons and hadrons.

yes I did! Thought this paper was quite nice, but anticipating grade boundaries to be really high :frown: I wanted a 6 marker on an experiment! But oh well, at least its done now!

What did everyone do for the specific charge on the first question? and what did everyone get for the very last? I got 30000ohms

Last question

V (output) = (R1/ R1+R2+R3) X V(source)

0.75 = (5/ 5+R2+5) X 6

Rearrange R2=30kohms

R2--> variable resistor resistance

Answer: 30,000ohms

:biggrin: so happy

I did the specific charge of the entire ion, thus including the mass of the electrons, and I also got 30k ohms!
Does anyone usually put an unofficial mark scheme up for physics?

The similarity they wanted for leptons and HADRONS

Is that leptons and HADRONS can interact together by the WEAK interaction

Eg proton+electron capture

That was the similarity :smile:

So you did 18 electrons and 20 protons x the charge of the electron? nice!
OMG I loved that 6 marker! Overall I found the paper nice whilst others found it fairly hard. Not sure what the boundaries are gonna be, but I'm hoping its low to boost my UMS up :smile:

You would definitely get one I'm not entirely sure about 2 but depend on the examiner :smile:

What did you get for the specific charge? I got 4.0x10^7 Ckg^-1.
4.0x10^6
