Im resitting from january, where i felt i knew all the stuff yet only scored of a C. So this time round im remaking my notes but from Heywoods book, hopefully in more detail
Taking it for the first time attempting the whole A Level in one year. Managed to get an A in the AS in January so just gotta keep it up!
I'm using the textbook, the Heywood book, my college notes and the revision study guides from Philip Alan.
EDIT: Are you also taking 6GP04B?
Yes i am. Yeah i did v well ion AS but despite knowing all the stuff i got a C in Unit 3 in january which i was v suprised at
My old teacher said to use Heywoods notes as opposed to the edexcel ones ironically ahha. It seems he talks about a lot of things not in the other edexcel text book.
And ive got to solo teach myself the Unit 4 ideologies

That's what I've heard too. I've solo taught myself the entire A Level so I know how you feel!
casually bumping the thread, does anyone have any essay plans for the socialism questions???? I don't have enough info to write a full 45 mark essay and now I'm on half term so can't ask my teacher (whoops)1!!!!
Explain the key ideas associated with revisionist socialism. On what grounds have conservatives supported paternalism? Explain the link between liberalism and constitutionalism. Why do anarchists view the state as inherently evil and oppressive? Why did Marx believe that capitalism is doomed to collapse, and how did he think this collapse would occur?
45 marks:
To what extent do conservatives support tradition and continuity? 'Anarchism is merely an extreme form of socialist collectivism'. Discuss To what extent have modern liberals departed from the ideas of classical liberalism?
Overall, I think it was a good exam paper and the grade boundaries were decent. Wish I could of sat it in January

yeah i loved the questions i did january and felt i answered the mwell, but still ended up with a C
i got my script back but unsure what i need to improve on
Should I study all four ideologies for the Unit 3B? (Socialism - Anarchism - Conservatism - Liberalism) or could I skip one as I am starting to study from tomorrow?
And if anyone was kind enough to send me some resources or revision notes that would be amazing!

I sat the exam in Jan and got a low B, you're best of looking at your A02 marks for the essay in particular. I got 8/24 and assuming that I fared similarly in the 15 markers, so that is what messed me up.
Out of interest, anyone know how to improve A02 marks? Got a tutor but it was quite wishy washy.
