Any electrical engineering applicants/ students ?

Hello everyone,
Ive been going through all these uni of Bristol threads but didn't come across any regarding any electrical and electronic engineering.
ive been offered conditional in that and if everything goes according to plan I'll be there this October
Any once else applied for it ?

Also a few questions..

So is Bristol strong in this department? Any good?

Also do these students get any time to socialise? ( I've heard it's tough as hell)

I have an offer to study a computer science MSc at Bristol but haven't decided whether to accept. I think Bristol is a good uni for electrical and electronic engineering as the department is currently ranked 5th in the UK

That's great.
i also have an offer from manchester in the same field. Which do you reckon to be the better option? I ended up declining ucl as I've been told its engineering department is not so good?

Manchester is ranked 6th and would appear to be a great option as well. UCL is currently ranked 11th for E&E engineering but was 4th last year (so make of that what you want). Of course rankings don't mean everything and I think you've looked at some really good unis.

The most important thing to consider is the course content and modules as they will differ in each uni. Make sure you choose an E&E course that you think you'll enjoy. From what I've heard, both Bristol and Manchester have a great social life but that Bristol is a nicer city. Personally I'm more attracted to Bristol than Manchester but that's just me.
I've got a flatmate who does this exact course and he loves it. It seems like there's a range of stuff involved, I've seen him doing coding and he does labs and such too. Bristol is very good and yes, as a fresher you will definitely have time to have a decent social life

One question, the university of Bristol asked me for either 3 As or 1 A star 1 A and B, also that I should get an A in math.
well I'm nearly done with my A2 exams, I had a bad math exam :/ and I have 4 subjects. I'm expecting something like A star in physics and 2 A's (in chemistry and business studies) and 1 B in math :/ . Do you think they'll take me in?
Hey, ive firmed an offer for bristol EEE. Ive only heard good things.

What? How come they asked me for 3 A's? That's strange. Did they ask you to get an A in math specifically?

I highly doubt that, it's probably because I had 5 As in my AS.
anyways how are the exams going along?
I think I screwed up math :/

Me too! well we have losts of small exams.

I got an offer for DDD(distinction)

I applied for mechanical but they gave me the alternative for electrical and electronic or engineering mathematics. I chose electrical and hoping to switch to mechanical in my 2nd year.
I never knew btecs were so popular I thought almost everyone would doing a levels

BTEC engineering isnt that popular 5/15 people that do it apply to uni. and about 10,000 people a year do the qualification compared to like 400,000 for A levels
