Think it's realeased this afternoon, because it hasn't reached 10 days exactly yet, as the exam was at 13:40

Hi, I got these results for chemistry and I was wondering if you could help me find out how much I needed for an A for the predicted:
Unit 1 : 73
Unit 2 : 82
Unit 3 : predicted 80
ISA : 39/50

hope your q's been answered:smile:
B1- 97 UMS
B2- 81 UMS
ISA- 39/50 (not sure what its out of actually)

How much needed in B3 to get an A* overall?

(Don't worry, I know I'm not getting one... Just curious :tongue: )

You have got 73+82 = 165

165/2 = 82.5 UMS needed for unit 3 and the ISA

If you do get 80 in unit 3: you need to get 85 UMS in your ISA, which I think 39 raw marks is exactly equivalent to, so it totals up to exactly 320 so you get an A however, for you it depends on the ISA boundaries

Last year, 39/50 was 90 UMS

Thing is though more people are getting better scores because last year was mainly for core science, and now people doing double and triple award are doing Isas this time around. It might stay at 39 for an A*, but it might not as well

But surely it can't change drastically like from 90 to 85? And what about for my physics
40/50
81
74
predicted 82
Yo, update: The exam has NOT been released yet.

I will compile a "Chemistry" Pack that will contain:

CH2FP
CH2HP
CH3FP
CH3HP.

It will available on a separate thread :3

It may change drastically; I'm saying this as the worst case scenario, to avoid disappointment if it does go down. But please do not take my word for it, I, like most people, am making educated guesses. :s-smilie:
Hopefully it does not change, and 39 is an A*, fingers crossed!

I comprehend and hopefully! But if those were my results, would it be likely to get an A?

Yeah I think you could easily get an A you never know you could get 85 in B3 if the gb are low, and that would mean you do not need as much in the isa. Your isa mark could go up as well after moderation which would strengthen your chances of getting an A.

No, I'm gonna force you to wonder the forums of "The Student Room" for eternity, looking for the chemistry thread :colondollar::colondollar::colondollar::colondollar::colondollar:

(Of Course I will) :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

LOL :cool:
Do you think I can get an A* overall

B1=97 (Retaking for 100 ums though)
B2=86
B3=Raw marks I think 53-55
ISA=42/43

Definitely. Your B3 score will give you a strong A* of at least 95 UMS, and your ISA will give you somewhere between 84 and 94 UMS. In the worst case scenario, if you've done as well in B3 as you think you have, you will achieve 362 UMS overall which is an A*, just.

You're not really retaking B1 are you?
