Lovely paper.. Apart from the 250dm3 enthalpy change one. I put 1630 (ish), what did everyone else get?

2 marks for saying how ozone is maintained I stratosphere:
- O2 + O <----> O3 or can say reversible reaction
- rate of formation of ozone equals = rate of decomposition of ozone

Give propagation steps of NO
- NO + O3 --> NO2 + O2
- NO2 + O ---> NO + O2

How fermentation made:
Equation:
- glucose --> 2C2H5OH + 2CO2
Conditions:
- yeast enzyme or zymase at 37 degrees
- anaerobic

Ahh, I messed up on the fermentation equation but I believe that I got the other things in that question correct?

THIS IS WRONG! The empirical formula was C4H8O, but the molecular formula was C8H16O2 so it was an ester

No

The molecular number given was 72

Empirical formuula was c4h80 which has mr of 72

72/72 = 1 so the moevular formula was the same

C=o was resent but o-h was not

So it's either ketone or aldehyde

What did people get for the yield question and what were the values because some people got 95%ish and others did like 9000.../11000.. (Approx) and got like 82%

Answer is definitely 95.45% to 4 significant figures

The space for the five marker where you had to identify the two structures was very small, I had to squeeze the answers in...:mad:

how was that the molecular formula? c4h8o is 72..
how'd you just put an O on it :?

I got the empirical formula as C4H8O, and the Molecular as C4H8O.

YOU'RE WRONG. The actual molecule was C4H8O therefore it was either butanal or butanone.

The mr was 72, it had to be C4H8O, I'm not sure why they're questioning you...

Using the molar ratio and empirical formula

the Mr of the empirical formula = 72
mr of compound = 72
72/72 = 1

so it was the same as the empirical formula which is C4H8O

I think I got -4596

Oh no i got 4596 first then i changed it :s-smilie:

i got around 82% aswell
did anyone else get an aldehyde and a ketone with a Molecular formula of C4H8O for the infrared spectroscopy question?

Anyone has the paper??

you all are acting like its not normal to be around low 70's to be an A,has been many times pricks

Who are you calling a prick lmao, I was being friendly - hence the smiley face...

I didnt write what it was called, I said what functional group it would have and drew the structure? Marks?

How many marks is that worth?

only 2

I did! But I only drew them out :/

I had to use the entire page of "additional answer space"!
