GOD I screwed up! I'm absolutely broken down right now! (someone cheer me up!) that paper was suppose to be 'relatively easy!' yet I ran out of time! grrrr!

If it makes you feel better, I accidently missed out the last two pages as they were stuck together, so I only had 5 minutes to do them. Definitely failed.

I put the arrows the opposite direction that they were travelling, if that makes sense? I remember doing it in class once and everyone got it wrong, so we kinda learnt.
same

Also, for the last question I put infrared first, with UV second.
What did the graph you had to draw look like?
Mine had a period of 0.2s, and I draw 2 full waves, 0-0.2, 0.2-0.4. Also has 0.010, 0.020, 0.030 on the sides (and the negatives of these values on the y-axis)

I got the same as you! Took me a long time to work out though..
if anyone could post a link of the paper i will upload module answers.

Are we allowed to discuss this exam yet? :s-smilie: Or does the time limit only apply to Edexcel?

EDIT: It's only Edexcel. Learn to read James.

we're not allowed and anyone who posts on here will be disqualified

EDIT: Ah you noticed ahaah
Really annoyed now because for the 90degrees difference one I put Y and Z when they are 180 :frown: just wasn't thinking...

was the graph a sine graph? :|

That's not true - OCR exams are only taken in the UK so you can discuss straight after

Disgusting paper!

Yep! Horrid :frown:

Im thinking it'll be as low as 63ish for an A.
As a year 13, that paper was harder than the A2 stuff!

Totally agree! A2 seems to be so much easier than this paper?!

What did you guys get for efficiency, i got 80%

I got 85% defiantly wrong :frown:

Yeah! I'm really worried now though that Unit 5 will be awful :frown:

I got total input power as 2880W (P=IV = 120x24 = 2880W), got the power lost as 720W, so got the percentage efficiency as 75%. But apparently it was 80%?

I think you're supposed to use 30V instead of 24V

What do people think gradeboundaries willl be for an A (and for 130, 140 and 150 UMS)?

There were 2 questions that really threw me: The Electric Meter for the LDR and using the Double slit instead of two identical light sources. Took me a while to think those through.

For the wave question with WXYZ I put W at max speed, X at rest and W and X for the phase difference of 90 degrees.

Could someone enlighten me as to what happens to the speed of W oscillating when the frequency is doubled?

Yeah, I thought that too. It said to do it for point X, which was at a maxima on the wave.
