Is this from a STEP paper? Pretty sure that's beyond the A level spec!

They're from STEP 1/2, so are not beyond the a level spec.

Well STEP and A level are not the same level.. otherwise they would contain shared content!

you're right. I doubt that's in the spec although I'm not sure

The questions are based on the same content, STEP is just more difficult. Nothing extra needs to be learnt and STEP/AEA are good practice for C3/C4 if you're aiming for an A*, and they're more interesting.

It's nothing outside of the A-level specification, but the difficulty level is likely much harder than the papers will be, so don't panic!

Do we think the paper will be harder or easier than Jan13?

Harder.

It would have to be bloody hard then
Hopefully similar or easier. Just about scraped an A* in that ( 60 Marks ). If it's harder, that's my aim of the A* gone :frown:
Hoping this paper is diabolically hard

I managed that as well, if it's hard the grade boundaries will be low again, so yeah

Hard papers are fun.
Hard papers have low boundaries so I can still get full ums and drop a few silly marks.

Hard papers are fun? Not when a Uni place is at stake XD
Probably the hardest topic, is in my opinion either Differentials or Vectors ;(
