This is a new level...never carried out before.

From Asurnasirpal II, king of Assyria almost 3,000 years ago:
“I built a pillar over against his city gate, and I flayed all the chief men who had revolted, and I covered the pillar with their skins; some I walled up within the pillar, some I impaled upon the pillar on stakes, . . . and I cut off the limbs of the officers, of the royal officers who had rebelled. . . . Many captives from among them I burned with fire, and many I took as living captives. From some I cut off their hands and their fingers, and from others I cut off their noses, their ears, and their fingers(?), of many I put out the eyes. I made one pillar of the living, and another of heads, and I bound their heads to posts (tree trunks) round about the city. Their young men and maidens I burned in the fire . . . Twenty men I captured alive and I immured them in the wall of his palace. . . . The rest of them [their warriors] I consumed with thirst in the desert of the Euphrates.”

Just supports the claim of the increasing radicalisation of the rebels, cant believe people still think we should supply arms and support.

I have seen many many videos of Syrian soldiers torturing and killing FSA POWs.On the other hand, the FSA is just as guilty for the same things (video evidence etc)... 'tis all awfully barbaric nonetheless.

I've seen one unlawful killing but I tell you its 10x better than seeing a 13 year old chopping off a soldiers head. Or 12 POWs executed under a "Shari'a court".

Oh sorry I'm guessing what we should do in the name of 'humanitarian intervention' is bomb every Syrian existing....

Yes lets get involved, have british soldiers die and then setup a democracy with an extremist party getting elected (which we cant stop), then cue the increasing amount of Sectarian violence as a result of it (suicide bombings, car bombs etc) between Sunni's and Shia's. Look at Iraq, Libya etc..

There is no centre parties when it comes to Sunni's and Shia's, historically either is a minority or majority, with Assad gone, Sunni party's will use the slogan of Shia's dominating the country for the past years, and then add to the violence.

But who cares so long as we give them freedom? :gah:

Freedom to kill each other? Thats how the dictatorships materialised in the first place. It's a vicious cycle.

What are you talking about? This has nothing to do with what I wrote.

You should be 18+ to view this (which should be confirmed via youtube account); I warn that this is very graphic. Although I could post hundreds more, or FSA examples, these are just a tiny sample to show that this is not an isolated occurance:

I always wondered, both the FSA and other rebels, along with the SAA, are muslim, how comes its only the rebels who scream 'Allahu Akbar', and the SAA only say it to take the piss?

Also, the Syrian army isnt an honourable army, it doesnt care for its enemies like the British army would if one was captured. They are ruthless, like most armies in the region. The rebels are the same. People are commentating the war by western standards, when its in the middle east,

I can only guess - the FSA say it because they need Allah to win the war whereas the much stronger Syrian Army doesn't 'need Allah's assistance' to win the war?

Civil war brings out the worst in any country to be honest; if Britain was to descend into civil war, my guess would be that, in spite of Britain's 'western civility', people would kill mercilessly here (assuming there was no foreign intervention). Imagine if we let those football hooligans and EDL thugs loose without any police presence - chances are they would lynch any brown person they could find... Human morality is a curious thing.

Now do you want me to show a few that the FSA do along with their Jihadi allies?

Tomorrow I will, just for a balance of argument; I have to get on revising before I start rewatching some bloody massacres etc...

Edit: still shows a sadistic/ deranged mental state - like the actual f**k is wrong with him? Although I assume a neutral position upon the Syrian conflict, are you a warcrimes-apologist or something?

The majority of people here haven't even got the slightest idea of what the situation is like in syria other than what they choose to believe from their preferential newspaper/tabloid.

I honestly think they are very angry, the people are very angry... I'll collect a few of civillians getting murdered (seen one of a guy getting shot up drying his clothes). I hate what's going on in Syria but a lot of opinions here are just faced against the Assads saying that they are murderers and if they were massacaring people by the thousands they would have fallen 2-3 years ago but the fact that the war has lasted this long shows the resilience and attitude of the Syrian people. Fight or die pretty much; there's too many FSA running around with foreign accents: most of them aren't Syrian!

Maybe if Western nations had supported and backed the more moderate factions opposing al-Assad, then we won't have a potential Islamist government on the horizon. A policy of non-intervention doesn't preclude you from the consequences. Do you think that the more sinister fascist forces in the region are embolden or suppressed by the awareness of American ambivalence and inaction?

Iran, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have provided support for their clients; and Western academicians shrugged ... and the results are increasingly salient.

Aye, and our reason for supporting the rebels? to overthrow an oppressive dictator? So we will be allying ourselves with Saudi Arabia and Qatar (Both well known extremely democractic countries.......not) to overthrow the only dictator in the middle east, the evil Bashar Al Assad.

It would be double standards, we are allying ourselves to one oppressive regime to overthrow another oppressive regime, with the excuse that oppressive regimes should stop. Doesnt make sense to me.

Adding to this, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are all surrounding countries with vested interests. Iran is majorly Shia, the other 2 are Sunni. Because those countries got involved, doesnt mean we should.

If there was a revolution in France (again) we would certainly have more of a claim to intervene as its right on our doorstep. But not somewhere like Syria.

Then you have to factor in the cost of it, the amount of british soldiers who will need to die, resources needing use etc..
