Edexcel GCE Biology Unit 5 6BI05 June 2013

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone knows when the pre-release material will be coming out for this exam... The website says 11/03/13 but I've been waiting all day for it, and it still hasn't been released!
Also, how is work going for this exam? How is everyone feeling?! Would appreciate it if we could all share some resources and help each other out with this! GOOD LUCK!

I've read it. Before I start working on it, I will first read the previous ones and see what type of questions they ask.
No problem, donleone.
I will add that I need to post some questions to my to do list, so we can go over this long article.

I'm reading it thinking "ewww THAT topic", and "oh no I forgot about that..." :P

Hi Guys,

Does anybody have any kind of 'checklist' for A2 coursework for edexcel? I'm a private entry candidate and totally stuck on the 'pulfrich effect' and don't want to keep hassling my tutor as he charges for his time.

Thankyou
HEY GUYS
i read the article and sounds quite interesting...but i got a slight problem in understanding the phrase below from paragraph 40 page 6
'we also find it very intriguing that the naked mole rat neurons exhibit some electrophysiological properties that suggest neurons in these animals retain immature characteristics'
please someone help me what this phrase is trying to tell us.
thank you

I would think this is related to maturing cells - cells that are not completely specialised (for example, stem cells are immature). In other words, the neurones have not entirely specialised because of the way the conduct an impulse and their physical appearance. However, this is just my perspective and I may be wrong.
