I think this is because:

To find the relative speed, you take the first velocity and minus the second velocity. To find the vector sum, you get the first force and add the second force.

i.e.

Velocity of car 1 = 10m/s
Velocity of car 2 = -10m/s
Relative velocity = 10m/s - -10m/s = 20m/s

Force 1= 200N
Force 2 = -200N (other direction)
Resultant force = 200N + - 200N = 0N

EDIT: If the door doesn't move, it means all the forces acting upon it are balanced, so it couldn't be 400N.

I'm too burnt out from other exams to revise much for this. I think I'm good for an A, but not too sure about an A*. I really want one A* in a science though...

I really don't like the motors or generators or diodes, or any of P6. But I am sure there is going to be a question about motors ):

Are you Sure? Everyone was saying on the bio paper you needed like 60-65% Raw marks for an a*

50/85 is a bit high for a B? I mean A* will probably be around 50-55?

My thoughts exactly, I think an a will be like 40-45 and a b would be 34-39

what do people think the 6markers are likely to be? Physics is my worst subject eurgh I hate it! and I need as much help as I can get! also I really don't understand the whole polarising light..? if anybody could explain that it would be great! and if there's time how a motor or generator actually works? (I think I know the basics, but that's not enough if it's a six marker!!) :frown:
