Finally got around to watchingThe Hobbit which I found enjoyable but it wasn't anything special. The main Lord of the Rings triology was suprior in just so many ways.

Watched Ratatouille for the first time today. Enjoyable but not in the same league as Finding Nemo or Monsters Inc. etc.

Also, been poorly so haven't been to the cinema in a couple of weeks, did a blog post on my ten favourite sequels instead. :h:

So I read that one on sequels now, Scream 2 a really good shout! I'm not a fan of the genre but the way they explained about sequels was class.

Aliens and Godfather I was thinking of too when I just read "top 10 sequels" absolute quality.

I also had Batman in mind, but The Dark Knight. It was one of the best cinema experiences I ever had that had me engaged the whole time.

Also read the top 10 kick ass chicks. How can you put Clarice Starling in there, she was scared ****less the whole film. Yea sure she kept going and going even though she was scared, but that to me is more determination and strength of character, than pure kick ass.

I personally would put Alice in there and Trinity (although I guess she ain't the main character). And probably Hanna, because I love Saoirse Ronan and the film.

Totally see your point about Clarice, but to me she wasn't scared so to speak, more shocked and confused at the way in which Lector seems to be able to get through her defences so effectively. She's pretty kick-ass around every one else in my opinion, including the stand off with Bill at the end. In more of a mental and psychological way than say Ripley or Sarah Connor, but still kick-ass I would say. :h:
Oh wow, how awfully bad is A Good Day to Die Hard?

They need to let the franchise die already. John McClane has gone from an everyday but resourceful cop who does his best to some kind of ****ing supersoldier. It makes the entire thing far too ridiculous.

Not just that, the first hour was just things blowing up.

I can watch the discovery channel when they show how people control explode buildings and it would be more interesting.

The car chase must have been one of the most boring I have ever watched. Three slow, chunky vans chasing each other at about 40mph whilst Bruce willis shouts random Russian slurs. Surely the sons van was much quicker than the tank thing chasing them and could have accelerated in a straight line and disappeared.

Saw The Internship today [free advanced screening :woo: if you didn't know, you can get hold of these tickets on Facebook pages like 10 Ways To Save Money As A Student, actual cinema sites ie Vue, who are booking for The Heat atm and probably through searching for them on Google].

It turned out to be a bit of a gem for me personally as I enjoyed every minute of it. There were some absolutely hilarious moments in it that made the whole cinema scream of laughter. Wasn't expecting much tbh but I left the cinema smiling (possibly due to Rosa Byrne ).

New blog post! I'm embarking on a peculiar film watching challenge, evidently because I hate myself. :colonhash:

Did you know that FB pages like that just get the tickets through a website called ShowFilmFirst.

If you sign up yourself then you'll get the email notifications when new tickets are on offer and should be able to get there first before they promote it
